We’re currently searching for a Software Technical Analyst who will work together with the Finance & Treasury Systems team that manages a complex SOX-compliant infrastructure with many inter-related components that provide the repository of financial information required to support the Source of Earnings and other general ledger financial reporting at MFC. They also support the Enterprise-wide critical cash management and treasury solutions including the banking interfaces.
There are over 4,000 global users of Finance & Treasury systems worldwide; peak usage occurs during local banking hours and during the quarterly financial reporting cycle. The key responsibilities of the area are data governance; ongoing operational support (including monitoring, setup, and end-user support); application development; supporting global financial process change initiatives and leading change throughout the business units; implementing changes and upgrades to all systems supported by IFS; maintaining a controlled, reliable, accessible, and stable financial reporting environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Finance & Treasury business team and stakeholders to uncover pain points and opportunities to accelerate the delivery of new business value through software, infrastructure, and services.
- Effectively support Manulife’s complex Finance & Treasury systems and enhance existing processes for financial reporting in a large dynamic client server & intranet web environment.
- Maintain and support these delivery services, with accountability for production reliability and usage, and the delivery of new functionality.
- Support non-production and production operations and fixes.
- Work with support teams and vendor to implement fixes and changes.
- Work on a rotating schedule, with flexibility to adjust to meet with the global team and support weekend deployments or production requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or any related course
- At least 2-4 years of experience with at least 3 of the following:• Batch scheduling tools (CAWLA)
- Unix and Unix scripting
- Relational Database (SQL/Oracle)
- Microsoft Azure and Azure Data Lake.
- Business Intelligence Software (Power BI)
- Oracle Hyperion Essbase
- JAVA
- Python
- Experience with agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration, and other approaches to accelerate the delivery of new features.
- Familiarity with ITIL4 Framework and ServiceNow platform
- Experience in supporting ERP tools (e.g. Infor Lawson, SAP)
- Amenable to work in UP Ayala Technohub, Quezon City on a hybrid set-up (3x a week onsite)
- Amenable to work in any shift schedule assigned (preferably day or night; but flexible depending on business need).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins etc.
- Working knowledge of FTP processes and network interfaces, HTML, XML, and industry standard parsers.
- A capacity for constant learning from both success and failure, remaining open to change and continuous improvement.
- Good organizational and problem-solving abilities that enable you to manage through creative abrasion.
- Good verbal and written communication with the ability to effectively articulate and communicate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes.
