GENERAL SUMMARY

  • Work Location: 2245 Enterprise Drive (Suite 4506) Westchester, IL 60154
  • starting range: $60,000-65,000
  • Clinical Background preferred. Urology experience preferred. Works closely with Clinical Data Analytics Chief Office and Applications Team. This position supports Clinical Data Registries, dashboard development and maintenance, and a variety of data-driven projects to enhance operational, clinical, and business performance.

The Clinical Data Analyst performs activities related to the design, build, implementation, and support for the clinical based applications of the organization. They analyze clinical data to optimize workflow to ensure that documentation and reports are processed. They also train staff to use the systems and capture date correctly for future analysis.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/COMPETENCIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Requires the ability to data mine, interpret, understand, and summarize data.
  • Analyzes qualitative and quantitative clinical, educational, administrative data from multiple sources, and synthesizes results into meaningful reports and presentations.
  • Designs and executes clinical data collection and reporting systems.
  • Monitors data usage in the databases to spot common trends and report them to the supervisor.
  • Captures and processes clinical data, verification, filing, and information protection.
  • Supervises data management staff and analyzes data identifying areas for improvement.
  • Supervises and trains data technicians on the procedures and software used to ensure productivity and accuracy.
  • Utilizes scripting and querying tools like Python, R or SQL, data visualization/BI tools, statistical methods, and data modeling to produce reports, data files, and dashboards.
  • Communicates with medical personnel to determine data analysis and classification requirements.
  • Performs regular quality control checks to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Performs other position related duties as assigned.
  • Employees shall adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and will comply with and assist in complying with all applicable laws and regulations. This will include and not be limited to following the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures; maintaining the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); immediately reporting any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department; and the timely completion the Annual Compliance Training.

KNOWLEDGE | SKILLS | ABILITIES

  • Willingness to learn technical side, will work closely with IT team to execute job functions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with healthcare industry and terminology and/or experience working with healthcare data (e.g. scheduling, billing, clinical, research data).
  • Experience with SQL, Tableau, BI principles, data visualization, design, and delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-oriented with ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
  • Knowledge in healthcare systems operations such as EMR.
  • Skill in using computer programs and applications including Microsoft Office.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in a Healthcare or related field (Nursing, Medical Assisting, etc..) preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 years' Data Analysis experience preferred.
  • Clinical Urology experience preferred
