Job Description:
Step into a pivotal role as the Android Application Team Lead to enhance mission-critical communication solutions. Here, you'll have the opportunity not only to apply and elevate your technical skills but also to guide a team of dedicated professionals, including product owners, technical leads, architects, and project delivery teams.
As the Team Lead, you'll steer the development and ongoing enhancement of our Android applications for two-way radios. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to envision, design, and launch innovative features that are vital for users in high-stakes situations. Your leadership will ensure that our solutions are not only robust and reliable but also at the cutting edge of communication technology.
Responsibilities:
- Lead/Manage all aspects of the product development process including requirement definition, design, implementation and testing of ASTRO radios.
- Able to manage engineering and also project the software for the products.
- Collaborate with different stakeholders from SW development, System Test, PDM, SCM, Quality and Hardware.
- Responsible for timeline alignment and resources management.
- Inter-group and intra-group teamwork in a multi-site world-wide development environment.
- Responsible for meeting project's deliverables and timeline requirements in a highly dynamic environment.
- Manage team's performance and quality metrics.
- Contribute to the improvement of existing software development processes
- Analyze, design, develop and maintain software for the organization's products and systems.
- Participating in code reviews, refactoring, and testing activities to ensure the delivery of robust and efficient software
- Performing software best practices including Unit Test, Test Automation, Continuous Integration and Knowledge sharing activities
- Staying up to date with the latest Android technologies and industry trends
Requirements:
- Thorough knowledge of Android mobile app deployment using Java or Kotlin and familiarity with Android SDK, Android Studio
- Prior experience in version control systems and Exposure to Jetpack Compose with hands-on experience in building UIs
- Familiarity with a wide range of Android Framework components such as Bluetooth, Sensors, Widgets, Services, etc.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect applications to back-end service
- Knowledgeable in modern mobile and frontend build pipelines and tools
- Familiarity with Android security features and mechanisms
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles and practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Target Base Salary Range: $106,500 - $123,560 USD
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of Experience building cross-platform native apps (iOS and/or Android) and web applications.
