PROFILE
This role is responsible responsible for driving revenue growth by promoting and selling industrial metal 3D printing solutions, including hardware, software, materials, and related services provided by TriMech Solutions. This role combines technical expertise in additive manufacturing with consultative sales skills to help customers identify, evaluate, and implement metal additive manufacturing technologies that improve productivity, reduce costs, and accelerate innovation.
The ideal candidate will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, R&D, and operations teams within customer organizations to develop business cases, conduct technical demonstrations, and manage the sales process from opportunity identification through implementation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Initiate sales activities to inspire, educate and develop account relationships for TriMech’s Additive solutions, with a focus on One-Click Metal Laser Powder Bed Fusion products.
- Identify, qualify, and develop new sales opportunities within manufacturing, aerospace, defense, medical, energy, automotive, and industrial markets.
- Generate and maintain a robust sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, industry events, and strategic account development.
- Execute consultative selling strategies to understand customer challenges and align additive manufacturing solutions to business objectives.
- Develop account plans and growth strategies for key customers and target accounts.
- Meet or exceed annual sales quotas and profitability targets.
- Serve as the technical expert during customer engagements.
- Evaluate customer applications and determine the feasibility of metal additive manufacturing solutions.
- Conduct ROI analyses and business case development for proposed projects.
- Recommend appropriate printing technologies, materials, and post-processing solutions.
- Support design-for-additive-manufacturing (DfAM) discussions and application development.
- Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations.
- Coordinate sample part production, benchmarking studies, and proof-of-concept projects.
- Manage customer evaluations and machine trials.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to validate applications and ensure successful project outcomes.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of Sales experience in Additive Manufacturing or Production Technology Solutions, preferably Metal AM or PBF (powder bed fusion).
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Understanding of metal additive manufacturing technologies such as:
- Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF)
- Directed Energy Deposition (DED)
- Binder Jetting
- Electron Beam Melting (EBM)
- Experience selling capital equipment or advanced manufacturing solutions.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, casting, and fabrication.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to travel 40–60%.
- Proficient in MS Office Products
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with metal additive manufacturing systems from companies such as One Click Metal, EOS, Nikon SLM Solutions, GE Additive, Trumpf, DMG Mori, Renishaw, or Velo3D.
- Knowledge of CAD software and additive manufacturing workflows.
- Familiarity with metallurgy, materials qualification, and quality standards.
- Experience selling into aerospace, defense, medical device, or industrial manufacturing sectors.
- Understanding of Industry 4.0 and digital manufacturing initiatives.
