Senior Java Kafka Developer

We are looking for an experienced Java Kafka Developer with 5+ years of hands-on software development experience to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance, event-driven applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, microservices, REST APIs, and distributed systems. The candidate will work closely with engineering, architecture, DevOps, and product teams to build reliable backend services and real-time data-processing solutions. This role is based in Gurgaon, and shortlisted candidates must be available to attend the interview in person at our Gurgaon location.

Requirements

• Design and develop backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.

• Build and maintain event-driven microservices using Apache Kafka.

• Develop and manage Kafka producers, consumers, topics, partitions, and message-processing workflows.

• Design scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems.

• Develop and integrate REST APIs and microservices.

• Implement Kafka-based asynchronous communication between services.

• Troubleshoot Kafka consumer lag, message failures, offset issues, retries, and performance bottlenecks.

• Implement error handling, retry mechanisms, dead-letter queues, and idempotent message processing.

• Work with relational and NoSQL databases.

• Write unit, integration, and API tests.

• Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.

• Optimize Java applications and Kafka performance.

• Work with CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments.

• Monitor production applications, logs, Kafka clusters, and system performance.

• Perform root-cause analysis and resolve production issues.

• Collaborate with DevOps/SRE teams for deployment, monitoring, and production support.
