Job Background/Context
As one of Global Markets’ key initiatives, Citi Velocity Web and Mobile brings together our global footprint with best-in-class technology, giving our institutional clients unprecedented access to our capital markets research, commentary, data, analytics, proprietary models, and services across asset classes. Citi Velocity was ranked #1 Web-Based Analytics Tool in the last five Institutional Investor surveys.
Located on the Trading Floor, we are looking to hire an Assistant Vice President (AVP) – Product Manager who will be responsible for the execution, delivery, and project management of key features and modules on the Citi Velocity platform.
The candidate will work closely with internal sales, trading, and structuring desks across all asset classes to coordinate, build, and scale Citi’s digital capabilities. This person will drive the day-to-day product development lifecycle—working alongside senior product managers to execute priority initiatives, and collaborating directly with global engineering, business analysis, and UX design teams to deliver world-class digital products.
Given the highly innovative and pioneering nature of our digital initiatives (including advanced analytics and AI integrations), the candidate will frequently manage the delivery of "first-of-their-kind" product launches. This requires coordinating complex internal product approval processes, such as preparing submissions for the New Activities Committee (NAC), and ensuring rigorous adherence to risk, control, and governance standards, particularly around Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies.
A key benefit of this role is that it is as broad as the platform itself, offering a unique opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of Markets products and focus intently on specific features as interest and projects allow.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Delivery Management
- End-to-End Delivery: Drive proactive project management across feature onboarding, platform enhancements, and system integrations. Track progress, manage timelines, and escalate roadblocks to ensure delivery dates are met.
- Requirements Definition: Translate business needs and stakeholder feedback into detailed functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Release Coordination: Partner with QA and Release Management to coordinate deployment schedules, validate production readiness, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Coordinate closely across Technology, UX Design, and Business Analysts (BAs) to ensure consistent delivery and efficient builds. Ensure all design and development tasks are grounded in validated user needs.
- Workstream Visibility: Maintain real-time visibility into workstreams using updated dashboards, release trackers, and sprint metrics to keep all stakeholders aligned.
- Meeting & Action Item Tracking: Document key meeting points, technical decisions, and action items concisely, driving all follow-ups to completion across global teams.
Internal Stakeholder Engagement
- Broad Internal Exposure: Build strong relationships and maintain regular communication with internal sales, trading, and structuring partners across all asset classes to align product features with business goals.
- Product Adoption & Feedback: Gather and analyze internal feedback, helpdesk insights, and user behavior data to prioritize bug fixes, usability improvements, and feature enhancements in the product backlog.
Risk, Controls & Project Governance
- Governance Coordination: Coordinate and prepare comprehensive submission materials for internal product approval channels, including the New Activities Committee (NAC), ensuring all innovative features are fully vetted and approved before launch.
- AI & Tech Control Implementation: Implement and monitor robust risk and control frameworks specifically tailored to Artificial Intelligence (AI) integrations, data privacy, and algorithmic models, ensuring compliance with internal AI governance policies.
Qualifications:
- 3–6 years of experience in digital product management, product delivery or project management within a financial services firm, FinTech, or sell-side organization.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong track record of managing complex digital projects through the entire lifecycle (ideation, specification, development, testing, launch, and iteration). Proficiency with Jira and Confluence is required.
- Self-motivated, with a strong willingness to manage timelines, drive platform value, and lead cross-functional execution teams independently.
- Clear, concise, and structured communication skills. Ability to present project updates and technical requirements clearly to both senior business stakeholders and software developers.
- Experience dealing directly with internal stakeholders (Sales, Trading, Technology). Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications for developers.
- Risk & Governance Mindset: Familiarity with institutional risk governance, product approval processes (e.g., New Activities Committee), and risk management frameworks for emerging technologies (such as AI and machine learning) is highly advantageous.
