nou Systems, Inc. (nSI) is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join our Engineering Services Division in Huntsville, AL, as part of our rapidly growing technology company.

We are seeking a highly motivated, independent engineer to serve as an AI-enabled data analytics and visualization expert, developing advanced analytical tools and management dashboards for multiple, simultaneous complex programs. This position requires a proactive, self-directed professional who excels at taking high-level objectives and independently producing fully developed, technically sound tools that put decision-quality data directly in front of senior leadership.

Responsibilities

As the technical lead for enterprise data visualization, you'll turn complex, multi-program datasets into the AI-powered dashboards and analytical tools senior leaders depend on to make critical decisions. Duties include:

  • Leveraging the MDA instantiation of Palantir's "Foundry" software or other available LLMs to develop sophisticated analytical tools and interactive dashboards, converting complex datasets into clear, actionable executive-level visual products
  • Designing, building, andmaintainingscalable, AI-enhanced scheduling and analytical tools that enable continuous tracking and optimization across programs
  • Operating independently — translating abstract, high-levelobjectivesinto complete, functioning tools without step-by-step guidance

Basic Qualifications

  • US Citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 7+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Ability to develop analytical and visualization tools
  • Ability to work proactively and independently with minimal supervision
  • Active security clearance at the required level (e.g., TS/SCI) or ability to obtain this clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a STEM field and 12+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Alternatively: Bachelor's degree in STEM and 20+ years of experience may be considered
  • Experience supporting database administration
  • Experience with Palantir's AI-based software development environments, or other AI tools used to build software that ties an LLM "chatbot" into enterprise data
  • Strong ability to synthesize technical data into executive-level products
  • Familiarity with missile defense or other complex DoD program environments

*Final compensation for this position is determined by a variety of factors, such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. This position has a wide range of acceptable experience levels, where the upper end of the pay scale is reserved for more senior applicants.
