Data Scientist Internship
We are looking for a Data Scientist Intern to join our Data Science team in Barcelona and gain hands-on experience working on real business challenges.
In this role, you will support analytical projects, collaborate with experienced Data Scientists, and contribute to data-driven decision-making across the organization. This is an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills in data analytics, machine learning, and business problem-solving within a global and collaborative environment.
About the Role
As Data Scientist Intern, you will support the team in developing and improving analytical solutions while contributing to ongoing and new data science initiatives.
Working closely with Data Scientists and business stakeholders, you will help collect and prepare data, generate insights, support the development of analytical models, and contribute to projects that create value through data-driven approaches. This role offers significant learning opportunities and exposure to a variety of business and technical challenges.
What You Will Do
- Data Collection & Preparation: Support data gathering, validation, cleansing, and quality assurance activities to ensure reliable and accurate datasets for analysis
- Data Analysis & Insights Generation: Perform exploratory data analysis and contribute to the identification of trends, patterns, and actionable insights to support business decision-making
- Analytical Models & Solutions: Assist in developing, testing, and improving predictive models and other analytical solutions under the guidance of experienced Data Scientists
- Reporting & Visualization: Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate results and support business stakeholders in understanding data-driven insights
- Innovation & Data Science Projects: Collaborate with the Data Science team on ongoing innovation initiatives and analytical projects that contribute to business value creation
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Support the documentation of analyses, methodologies, models, and project outcomes to ensure transparency and knowledge transfer across the team
Who You Are
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- Passionate about data analytics, machine learning, and the application of data to solve business challenges
- Familiar with data analysis tools and technologies, preferably including R, SQL, and Power BI
- Strong analytical mindset with curiosity and willingness to learn
- Good problem-solving and communication skills
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken

This role is based in Sant Joan Despí, Spain and is part of Essity's Global Demand Planning organization.
This position will report directly to the Global Forecast Analyst Manager.
This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in a global organization and work alongside experienced Data Science professionals on impactful business initiatives.
