Lab3 is one of the largest Azure engineering practices in the Australasia region with a focus on Cloud & DevOps, Data, IoT & AI, Modern Workplace, Modern Apps & Integration, Security, and Network services.
We are accepting Expressions of Interest for a NV1 security cleared Senior Engineers, ideally based in Canberra, with deep experience in Azure Cloud & DevOps to manage, deliver and support the technical solutions on Microsoft Azure Platform that meet our clients’ needs. We are open to permanent and contract employees- with multiple roles open, we are likely to take a mix of both.
Please note that this is not yet a live role (but is likely to become one soon), so delays in screening may occur.
The role:
- Manage, support and deliver state-of-the-art technical patterns on Azure that address clients’ requirements for scalability, reliability, security and optimised performance.
- Drive the deployment, and support of large, complex cloud projects.
- Hands-on planning, provisioning, and implementation of Azure infrastructure services as part of IaC projects, leveraging CI/CD tools and pipelines
- Gather specifications and deliver solutions to our client, identify growth opportunities.
- Partner with architects, consultants and peers to jointly create & review functional design specifications and Azure reference architectures.
- Contribute to the technical delivery and execution of multiple critical engagements.
- Play a key role in the build and optimisation of Azure workloads and transition to post implementation support.
- Recommend client value creation initiatives and implement industry best practices where relevant.
- Work with business stakeholders, internal and external engineers effectively, understand issues, provide recommendations, and deliver appropriate technical solutions.

Will demonstrate strong engineering skills in the following:
- Azure Cloud: IaaS/PaaS/SaaS
- Infrastructure Automation - Azure DevOps, CICD, Configuration management
- IaaC - Terraform, Powershell, ARM, Ansible, Bash, Go, Python, Chef
- Azure Network Design and Configuration - Azure Firewall, NSGs, Routing, Private Endpoints, Virtual WAN
- Azure Security Design and Implementation - Azure IAM, RBAC, Defender for Cloud
- Azure Governance – Management Group structures, Azure Policy, Cost Management
- Azure Application Infrastructure High Availability Design
- Open-Source technologies - Linux, Unix, OpenStack, Openshift
- Open-source containers (AKS Kubernetes)
