The Role

The QA Engineer plays a critical role within our Technology team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality applications through robust and scalable Quality Assurance practices. This position requires a strong understanding of both manual and automated testing methodologies, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across the organization. In addition, you will take ongoing ownership of the health of the data that flows through our pipelines and entity resolution systems.

Responsibilities

  • Automation Development – Design and implement automated test scripts to validate functionality.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration – Partner with developers and product teams to define test criteria and acceptance.
  • Test Execution – Run automated test suites and analyze outcomes for accuracy and stability.
  • CI/CD Integration – Embed automated tests into pipelines for continuous validation.
  • Test Expansion – Increase automated coverage in response to new feature development.
  • Process Documentation – Create and maintain documentation of test plans and processes.
  • Tech Evolution – Stay informed and adopt emerging QA trends and best practices including integrating AI to improve workflow.
  • Data Quality Analysis and Resolution - Investigate, validate, and remediate data integrity issues across internal data platforms.

Activities & Deliverables

  • Test Planning – Collaborate in sprint planning and retrospectives to ensure QA alignment. Work closely with the Product team to document requirements and develop effective test cases across multiple products.
  • Script Authoring – Build and maintain automated tests using test automation frameworks (i.e. Playwright, Selenium, etc.).
  • Reusable Frameworks – Develop and design modular testing utilities to reduce duplication.
  • Defect Reporting – Log and track bugs with reproducible steps and logs.
  • Quality Metrics – Provide test results, failure trends, and coverage stats.
  • Environment Management – Help set up and maintain test environments and automation pipelines.
  • Data Quality Management - Monitor data coverage, perform mapping remediation, manage entity resolution and collaborate with data engineering teams to improve data accuracy and consistency.

Skills & Characteristics

  • 3+ years of combined experience in manual including at least 1 year automation testing.
  • Deep understanding of test methodologies and defect lifecycle.
  • Solid hands-on experience with modern test automation frameworks (i.e. Playwright, Selenium, etc.).
  • Proficient in Python, JavaScript, or equivalent scripting language
  • Familiar with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc)
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and a creative problem solver who thrives in a collaborative environment.
