Role Overview:

IC Markets is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and manage

scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud infrastructure. The role requires expertise in AWS

services, CI/CD automation, infrastructure as code (IaC), and event-driven architectures to

support our mission-critical trading systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with AWS, containerized workloads, Kubernetes

and DevOps automation. You will work closely with Cloud Architects, Software Engineers, and

Security teams to ensure our infrastructure is optimized for performance, reliability, and security.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cloud Infrastructure & Automation

• Design and manage highly available, fault-tolerant AWS infrastructure for global trading platforms.

• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or CDK.

• Automate deployments and infrastructure updates with CI/CD pipelines - AWS

• CodePipeline, GitLab & Jenkins.

• Develop advanced automation with Octopus, AWS CodeDeploy,Bamboo (..)

2. Containerization & Orchestration

• Deploy and manage containerized applications using ECS, EKS (Kubernetes), and Fargate.

• Optimize ECS/Kubernetes clusters for cost efficiency, scalability, and performance.

• Implement service discovery and load balancing for microservices-based architectures.

3. Event-Driven Architectures & Real-Time Processing

• Develop event-driven architectures using AWS EventBridge, SNS, SQS, and Lambda.

• Build and maintain real-time data processing pipelines using Kinesis Streams, Kinesis

• Firehose, and DynamoDB Streams.

• Support pub/sub messaging models to enable efficient inter-service communication.

4. Security, Compliance & Networking

• Implement IAM best practices, least privilege policies, and security automation.

• Secure cloud networking with VPCs, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, AWS WAF, and Shield.

5. Monitoring, Logging & Incident Response

• Set up monitoring and alerting with CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and X-Ray.

• Implement log aggregation and analytics using AWS services like CloudTrail,

• OpenSearch (Elasticsearch), and Firehose or external tools like Prometheus and Grafana

• Establish disaster recovery (DR) plans, including backup strategies with AWS Backup and RDS Multi-AZ replication.

6. Collaboration & Process Improvement

• Work closely with Cloud Architects, Developers, and SRE teams to improve cloud performance and reliability.

• Participate in architecture reviews, performance tuning, and system optimizations.

Qualifications

Required:

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering

• (SRE) roles. Good to have experience in deploying Java based applications.

• Proven experience designing, deploying, and managing in distributed environments.

• Deep expertise in AWS services, including EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, Lambda, IAM, SNS, SQS, and EventBridge.

• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.

• Proficiency in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm) and managing EKS or ECS clusters.

• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with tools like AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Gitlab.

• Security expertise, including IAM, AWS KMS, encryption, and compliance best practices.

• Strong scripting and automation skills with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

• Preferred:

• AWS Certifications (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Security

• Specialty).

• Familiarity with FinOps (AWS cost optimization strategies).

• Experience in financial services, trading platforms, or high-frequency systems.
