Project Manager – Sports and Golf Division

Must be willing to relocate to the Kansas City, MO area — NOT a remote role. Full-time, direct-hire. Recent graduates welcome — no construction experience required. Up to 70% travel to all of the United States required — fully company paid Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

About the Company: For more than 30 years, this nationally respected sports and golf construction company has been building where the game is played — greens, fairways, bunkers, and championship-caliber athletic fields for football, baseball, and soccer, coast to coast. With hundreds of completed projects and a reputation for craftsmanship that architects and course superintendents specifically request, they run concurrent multi-million-dollar builds across the country while staying lean enough that every Project Manager gets real ownership from day one.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage 10–12 active projects at a time — a mix of new construction and closeout work, ranging from $1.3M to $12M and running anywhere from 4 months to 2 years
  • Own the full project lifecycle: schedule, procurement, and purchase orders, with the autonomy to run your projects your way
  • Serve as the technical point of contact to architects and engineers, and the on-the-ground liaison to your onsite superintendents
  • Coordinate closely with the office to keep crews and equipment moving to the right jobsites, with regular in-person meetings to stay aligned with your team
  • Balance heavy planning days in the office with 3–4 jobsite visits a day when you're in the field
  • Travel regionally and cross-country to project sites, with the company mindful about keeping any single rotation manageable
  • Track daily field notes, progress, and billing in Procore

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering — recent grads welcome, no prior experience necessary — OR 2+ years of commercial construction project management experience
  • Concrete construction experience strongly preferred; earthwork experience also considered
  • Experience with a project management software platform is a plus (we'll train you on Procore either way)
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 70% of the time, including regional driving and occasional flights
  • Comfortable managing a high volume of concurrent projects (10–12) in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • PMP or similar project management certification

Pay range and compensation package:

  • $80,000–$95,000/year, based on experience
  • Company vehicle and company credit card for all travel and job-related expenses
  • Schedule starts at 7:00 AM and runs based on what the job needs that day
  • Medical insurance (PPO/HMO options available), including dental and vision
  • 401(k) with up to a 3% company match, eligible after 90 days
  • PTO & standard paid holidays
  • A genuinely team-based, family-run culture

Equal Opportunity Statement: Background check and drug screening required. This is not a remote position — this is a field- and travel-based role requiring the successful candidate to live locally in the Kansas City metro area. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
