About Us
Here at Performance Validation (PV) we have been providing Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation services to the life science industries for over 30 years! We are a 100% employee-owned company with teams in Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Kansas, Washington, Wisconsin, and North Carolina, and we support clients throughout the US and overseas. As an employer, PV is committed to providing growth opportunities to our employees through professional development, implementation of new services, and cultivation of new geographical areas.
About the Job
Performance Validation is seeking an Associate Product Manager, New Services to join our Indianapolis team.
This is a new role, and it is a different kind of move than most CQV professionals get offered. Instead of executing the work on a client site, you will be figuring out what work PV should be doing next: which service lines are worth building, which competitors are already there, what clients actually need that nobody is selling them yet. Your technical background is what makes that possible. You know this industry from the inside, and you can tell the difference between an idea that sounds good in a market report and one that will hold up on a project floor.
You will start out reporting directly to our President/CEO, which means your research lands in front of the people making the decisions without passing through three layers first. As the organization grows, the position will report to a VP. If you have been thinking about a path into product management and business strategy but did not want to leave the life sciences to get there, this is that path.
What You Will Do
- Conduct the market research and data analysis needed to identify and prioritize new service lines
- Research direct and adjacent competitors through market reports, industry surveys, and interviews with PV subject matter experts and established clients
- Turn what you find into clear recommendations leadership can act on
- Help develop service concepts and the strategies to bring them to market
Where the Role Grows
As you build expertise in the role, your work will expand to include:
- Primary market research: meeting industry leaders and prospective clients through your own outreach and at industry events
- Test-marketing proposed solutions with established and prospective clients to confirm they fit
- Building full launch plans with support from our leadership team, covering resourcing and timing, delivery skills and training, pricing, target markets and clients, positioning and messaging, technical content and collateral, demand generation, success metrics, and financial budgeting and forecasting
- Working with our Commercial and Service Delivery teams to launch new services internally and externally, then tracking how they perform and adjusting the offering based on what you hear back
- Leading these efforts and owning PV's new service introduction roadmap
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of CQV or Cx experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, marketing, or life sciences
- Experience in FDA-regulated industries (pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or life sciences) preferred
- A high level of curiosity and confidence in front of clients
- A self-starter who is creative, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to zero in on solutions
- Committed to building product management and marketing skills through self-learning and outside coursework
- Based at our Indianapolis headquarters
What We Have to Offer
- Competitive base salary and biannual profit share
- Employee stock ownership program (ESOP) and 401(k) company match
- Medical, vision, and dental coverage
- Disability and life insurance
- Paid vacation and holidays
- Internal and external training opportunities
- Cellphone stipend
- Company-sponsored team building outings
Additional Information
Position type: Full-time, exempt.
Travel: Occasional national travel to meet with clients, vendors, and employees and to attend industry events.
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Performance Validation does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this position.
