About the job
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the OpenAPI Framework team and help shape the future of Saxo's platform engineering landscape.
This is a leadership role for someone who enjoys working with high-performing teams, influencing technical strategy, and partnering with senior stakeholders across the organisation. You will lead a group of highly skilled, domain expert engineers while ensuring the components continue to evolve in line with Saxo's growing scale and business needs.
Success in this role requires a balance of people leadership, technical credibility, strategic thinking, and operational excellence.
The OpenAPI Framework team is a core platform engineering team within Saxo's Platform Technology organization. The team consists of experienced engineers and owns the API platform and framework capabilities that enable engineering teams across Saxo to build and operate secure, scalable services.
The team’s APIs, framework, and shared services underpin both internal and customer-facing solutions and play a key role in supporting Saxo’s trading, investing, and banking products. The team balances platform innovation, modernization, operational excellence, and developer productivity, serving as both a technology provider and strategic partner to engineering teams across Saxo.
This is an opportunity to lead one of Saxo's strategic platform teams and have a significant impact on how software is built across the organization. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and technology leaders while helping shape the future of our engineering platform and developer experience.
Responsibilities
· Lead, coach, and develop a team of highly skilled engineers.
· Drive recruitment, retention, and career development.
· Define and execute the technology strategy for the OpenAPI Framework domain.
· Partner with architects, principal engineers, and engineering leaders on platform evolution.
· Lead the successful execution of OpenAPI projects from planning through delivery
· Effectively evaluate and prioritize technical enhancements, technical debt, reliability, and business priorities. This includes strong alignment with several stakeholders and within the team.
· Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and operational excellence.
· Help teams across Saxo successfully adopt and leverage platform capabilities.
The team works with modern platform and cloud technologies, including:
· .NET and C#
· API and service-based architectures
· Azure cloud services
· Kubernetes and containerized workloads
· CI/CD and DevOps practices
· Observability and monitoring
· Security and authentication platforms
· Developer tooling and platform engineering
While this is primarily a leadership role, you should be technically curious and strive to build a deep understanding of the team owned components. You will be comfortable engaging with senior engineers on architecture, engineering trade-offs, and platform strategy to support informed technical decision-making.
Your Profile
· Proven experience leading software engineering teams in a complex environment.
· Strong people leadership and coaching skills.
· Experience with platform engineering, APIs, cloud technologies, or distributed systems.
· Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
· A collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence without direct authority.
· Experience working across organizational boundaries and building trusted partnerships with both technical and business stakeholders.
· Ability to translate technical strategy into clear business value.
· Passion for fostering high performant teams, enhancing the developer experience, and empowering each team member to achieve their full potential.
