In this role, you'll:
Help create the data foundations that support reporting, analytics, and decision-making across Sydney Metro. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and architects to understand information needs and translate them into clear, scalable, and reusable data models that enable accurate and consistent reporting.
This role is about more than building reports. You'll play a key part in ensuring data is structured, governed, and trusted across the organisation. Your work will help deliver reliable insights that support better decisions on one of New South Wales' largest infrastructure programs, contributing to improved project outcomes and service delivery for the community.

About you
You are an experienced BI professional with a strong background in data modelling and business analysis. You enjoy working with stakeholders to understand their requirements and can translate complex business needs into simple, practical, and maintainable data models that support reporting and analytics.
You bring strong technical skills, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to data quality and governance. You are comfortable working with multiple stakeholders, balancing competing priorities, and partnering with data engineers and architects to deliver effective data solutions that create long-term value for the organisation.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Strong experience designing and maintaining dimensional and relational data models
- Ability to create simple, scalable, and reusable data structures that support reporting and analytics
- Experience gathering business requirements and facilitating stakeholder discussions
- Apply BI expertise to unlock strategic value from data — proactively identifying where models and analytical insight can move the needle for the business
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and compliance principles
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- SQL skills to validate, test, and analyse data models
- Ability to work collaboratively with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, data engineers, and architects
- Demonstrated commitment to the NSW Government Five Ways of Leading behaviours
