Full description

About the role

Parim is looking for a senior, hands-on QA Engineer to help us lead the next stage of our automation approach and make automated checks a practical part of every new development. You will combine thoughtful manual testing with dependable automation, choosing the right approach based on risk and value.

Working in a two-person QA team alongside Engineering and Product, you will help surface risks earlier, make product quality visible and improve how we test and release software. This is an individual-contributor role with real scope to shape our quality practices without people-management responsibilities. If you are interested in helping teams identify risk earlier, make quality visible and shorten release cycles without compromising reliability, then please continue reading.

What success looks like

  • Release cycles become faster and more predictable because quality risks are surfaced earlier.
  • Test results, product health and delivery risks are visible and useful to Engineering and Product.
  • Recurring defects lead to improvements in code, process or infrastructure - not only another test case.

What you will be doing

Take hands-on ownership of testing across new and existing product areas. Not all our testing is automated, so you will perform manual and exploratory testing when needed to support smooth delivery and give the team confidence in each release.

You will continually consider where automation could provide faster, more reliable feedback while recognising when manual testing remains the better approach. You will also help improve our tools, standards and ways of working, keeping them practical for a growing company.

  • Automation and technical quality
  • Build dependable automation. Build and maintain reliable automated tests
  • Strengthen technical feedback. Continuously improve and optimise the quality checks already integrated into our development and CI/CD workflows, helping teams receive fast, reliable and useful feedback
  • Hands-on product testing
  • Choose the right testing approach. Plan and perform manual, exploratory, functional, integration, API, end-to-end and regression testing based on the risks and needs of each product change.
  • Build quality in early. Partner with engineers and product managers to define acceptance criteria, identify risks and decide what should be tested at each layer. Communicate openly about risk, trade-offs and readiness while raising concerns early and help the team find a path forward.
  • Quality insight and improvement
  • Make quality visible. Use test results and delivery data to help Engineering and Product understand product health, release confidence and emerging risks—not only the number of bugs found.
  • Improve the system behind the issue. Look for patterns in recurring defects, flaky tests and environment-related failures, then help improve the underlying code, infrastructure, tools or ways of working.

What makes you a great fit

  • Hands-on commercial experience across both manual testing and test automation.
  • Practical understanding of test design, test architecture, debugging and maintaining reliable test suites.
  • Strong experience designing API test automation for REST and/or GraphQL services.
  • Experience with modern browser or end-to-end automation tools; Playwright experience is especially relevant to our current direction.
  • Good working knowledge of TypeScript or strong experience in a comparable language with the ability to transition.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with performance and load testing, including choosing meaningful scenarios and interpreting results.
  • The judgment to decide what should be automated, what is better tested manually and where testing effort will create the most value.
  • The initiative and judgment to own a domain, prioritise work and improve an approach that is still developing.
  • Clear, transparent communication and the confidence to influence across Engineering and Product.
  • A startup mindset: curious, hands-on and willing to solve the problem behind the problem.

It would make you stand out

  • Experience helping a small QA function mature without adding unnecessary processes
  • Experience with DevOps, observability or infrastructure health

About the team

You will join a two-person QA team within Parim's product and engineering organisation. Expect close collaboration, direct communication and room to influence how work gets done.

Join our mission

If you enjoy building systems that help teams move faster - and believe quality is something we design into delivery, not inspected in the end - we would like to hear from you.
