They are seeking a JavaScript/Node.js Developer to join a collaborative engineering team responsible for developing backend services and APIs that support millions of users.This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys backend development, API design, and modern JavaScript technologies while working in an Agile environment. Project Overview
The team is modernizing and expanding a cloud-native financial services platform focused on scalability, performance, and customer experience. This developer will contribute to the creation of backend microservices, integrations, and APIs that power critical business functions across the platform.Key initiatives include:
- Building scalable Node.js microservices in a cloud environment
- Expanding API functionality across multiple applications and services
- Supporting platform modernization efforts through containerization and cloud technologies
- Enhancing application performance, reliability, and maintainability
- Contributing to CI/CD and automated testing practices
- Collaborating with product and engineering teams to deliver new customer-facing capabilities
Required Skills
- 1-3+ years of professional software development experience
- Hands-on experience with Node.js
- Experience with JavaScript (ES6+) and/or TypeScript
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs
- Understanding of asynchronous programming concepts, promises, and the Node.js event loop
- Experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with Docker or containerized applications
- Knowledge of software testing practices including unit and integration testing
- Experience working within an Agile development environment
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AWS services, including Lambda
- Exposure to microservices architecture
- Experience with React, Angular, or other modern JavaScript frameworks
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab
- Experience supporting production applications in a cloud environment

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincoln, NE.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
