We have an exciting position open: Director Strategy, Market Intelligence, Business Development Pharma reporting to the President M&A, Strategy, Business Development, Marketing Pharma.
AptarGroup’s organizational structure consists of three business segments Pharma, Beauty, and Closures. Pharma is the largest segment with 46% of the Group’s net sales and 69% of its’ adjusted Ebitda. Pharma mainly supplies nasal drug delivery spray pumps, metered dose inhalers valves, elastomeric injectables components, and digital health solutions.

The Director Strategy, Market Intelligence & Business Development plays a key leadership role, and acts as a Business partner, in supporting the strategic development and growth of Aptar Pharma. The position combines segment-level strategy leadership, market and competitive intelligence, and business development responsibilities. It is aimed at translating market dynamics, customer needs, and technology trends into actionable business recommendations.
The role supports the Global Leadership Team, Divisions and Regions by providing structured insights, facilitating strategic discussions, driving strategic planning processes, identifying new business opportunities, developing business plans and ensuring that Aptar Pharma maintains a clear, accurate and forward-looking view of its markets.
Strategy & Strategic Planning
- Lead and drive the strategic planning process at Aptar Pharma level across all Pharma Divisions globally.
- Support strategic decision-making by preparing market insights, business analyses and strategic recommendations.
- Facilitate strategy sessions and contribute to the development of strategy methodologies, frameworks and deliverables.
- Review with Corporate functions key processes, strategy execution, five-year planning and key corporate presentations.
- Support strategic initiatives at Global Aptar Pharma segment level as required.
- Support the Strategy Execution in all Pharma divisions and ensure the appropriate reporting
Market Analytics
- Lead global market intelligence activities and ensure relevant approaches, best practices, tools and deliverables.
- Lead global competitive intelligence activities, including structured processes and actionable insights on competition and market trends.
- Collect, analyze and synthesize global market information i.e. customer needs, products, technologies and competitive environment.
- Ensure that Aptar Pharma has a clear and precise view of market dynamics and emerging opportunities.
- Develop dashboards and communication tools to present market positions, competitive dynamics and business opportunities.
Commercial Data Management and Analytics
- Own and elevate commercial data governance by ensuring the accuracy, quality, security, and reliability of commercial databases, reporting systems, and analytics processes across Aptar Pharma.
- Transform data into strategic business insights through advanced analytics, delivering actionable recommendations, growth opportunities, and monthly performance reviews to support Executive Leadership Team decision-making.
- Standardize and optimize CRM processes globally by defining governance, business rules, and performance objectives, while driving data quality initiatives and annual CRM clean-up programs.
- Lead digital transformation and analytics innovation through the deployment and adoption of advanced CRM platforms (e.g., C4C), new data systems, and automated reporting solutions.
- Drive a data-driven culture across the organization by promoting best practices, establishing analytics standards, and leveraging technology to improve commercial effectiveness and uncover new business opportunities.
Business Development
- Identify and assess market opportunities to increase sales and develop new areas of business.
- Define business development strategies aligned with Aptar Pharma priorities.
- Write business plans and contribute to marketing briefs for new development projects.
- Work with sales teams and Global Account Managers to define strategies for key accounts.
- Promote Aptar technical solutions through presentations, communication materials, conferences and internal training.
Innovation, Partnerships & Intellectual Property
- Evaluate opportunities linked to new technologies, application fields and geographies.
- Prepare and negotiate development or licensing agreements, ensuring protection and enhancement of intellectual property.
- Support negotiation of development funding and resources where relevant.
- Control the dissemination of technical and commercial information to clients, partners, press and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to confidentiality agreements and appropriate handling of sensitive technical and commercial information.
Strategic Marketing & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Lead or contribute to strategic marketing committees and related project squads in coordination with Corporate Innovation teams.
- Lead the xBDM community and related meetings in alignment with the Global Market Director organization across the Pharma segment.
- Connect Divisions, Regions, Sales, Strategy, Investor Relations, Innovation and Public Affairs around strategic priorities.
- Provide functional leadership across strategy and market intelligence, including the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives without direct hierarchical authority.
Public Affairs, Funding & External Stakeholders
- Support the development of public affairs strategy in coordination with Global Leadership Team members, with a focus on Europe when relevant.
- Ensure appropriate processes and KPIs are in place to capture funding opportunities and tax credits, in collaboration with Divisions and R&D departments.
- Manage interactions with internal and external stakeholders related to funding, public affairs and strategic initiatives.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and inspire a high-performing multicultural team of 10, providing clear priorities, and a roadmap.

Candidate Profile:
- Degree in Business, Healthcare, or Engineering. MBA preferred.
- 15 years of experience minimum i, strategy, market intelligence/market insights, strategy and/or business development functions
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, healthcare industry, with solid understanding of the pharma systems marketplace, market dynamics, customer needs and technology trends.
- Experience in commercial related roles, or M&A would be appropriate
- Successful experience in a global and matrix organization.
- Experience in business plan development, high-level negotiation, development agreements, licensing or partnering.
- English fluency required both written and spoken
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to contribute to strategy development and execution.
- Analytical with a strong attention to detail; Problem solve effectively
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Strong leadership skills, including cross-functional leadership without direct hierarchical authority.
