About the role

We’re looking for a product-focused Software Engineer to build features across our Java services, MS SQL Server data layer, and React front end. You’ll ship reliable code, learn quickly, and collaborate tightly with teammates to delight customers.

What you’ll do

• Deliver well-scoped features end-to-end (Java → MS SQL → React) with high code quality.

• Write clear, maintainable code with unit/integration tests; participate in code reviews.

• Implement accessible, responsive UI components in React (hooks and modern patterns).

• Work with MS SQL Server: write queries/stored procedures; perform basic performance checks.

• Help improve CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows; document what you build.

• Partner with Product, Design, and QA to refine requirements and clarify edge cases.

• Troubleshoot issues across the stack; support on-call rotations with guidance.

Our tech

• Backend: Java (modern frameworks), RESTful services, auth best practices

• Database: MS SQL Server (queries, stored procedures, migrations)

• Frontend: React (TypeScript preferred), component-driven development, accessibility

• Tooling/Practices: GitHub, CI/CD, automated testing, feature flags, monitoring/logging, containers (plus)

What you’ll bring (must-haves)

• 2+ years of professional software development (Java and/or React) and eagerness to master the rest.

• Solid understanding of OOP, API fundamentals, and basic data modeling.

• Comfort with SQL and version control; familiarity with testing and CI.

• Clear communication, curiosity, and a growth mindset.

• Ownership of your work: you ask good questions, manage time well, and follow through.

Nice to have

• TypeScript, React testing libraries, and accessibility awareness (WCAG 2.2 AA).

• MS SQL performance basics (indexes, query plans), Docker/Kubernetes, and AWS exposure.

• Knowledge of security best practices (OWASP) and/or payroll/HCM domains.
