About the job:
- As a Data Engineer at Opella, you will play a critical role in defining, designing, and governing the
enterprise data architecture that underpins analytics, reporting, and AI/ML initiatives across the
company. Exposure to Secondary Market Research is mandatory for this role.
- Partner with data engineers, ML engineers, data scientists, product teams, and business
stakeholders to ensure architectural integrity and smooth implementation of enterprise data
solutions adopting scalable, secure, and efficient data technologies.
Main responsibilities:
- Design and architect enterprise-scale data Lakehouse solutions using Databricks, DBT, Unity
Catalog, Iceberg, and cloud-native services
- Define data architecture blueprints, standards, and reference models for ingestion, storage,
modeling, integration, governance, and consumption. Work closely with cross-functional teams.
- Lead the design of logical, conceptual, and physical data models supporting analytics,
operational reporting, master data, and ML/AI use cases.
- Architect high-performance batch, streaming, and CDC ingestion frameworks, ensuring
scalability, observability, and resilience.
- Provide leadership in diagnosing design challenges, optimizing data platforms, and evolving the
data architecture roadmap.
- Oversee the implementation of data governance, lineage, quality, and security frameworks,
with strong usage of Unity Catalog.
About you:
- Proven track record architecting and delivering enterprise lakehouse architectures using
Databricks and Apache Iceberg.
- 10+ years of combined experience across data architecture, data engineering, and cloud data
platforms, with strong proficiency in Azure services.
- Strong background in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, including dimensional
modeling, Data Vault, Data Mesh, semantic modeling, and modern analytics architectures.
- Hands-on experience with architectural oversight of tools such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks
Workflows, Apache Airflow, and dbt.
- Strong familiarity with DevOps and DataOps practices including Git, CI/CD, orchestration,
observability, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Proven experience architecting solutions that ingest and harmonize large-scale, high-volume
data from diverse enterprise systems such as SAP ERP, Salesforce CRM, Workday, APIs, AWS S3,
Azure Blob Storage, and flat files.
- Functional knowledge of FMCG/FMCH business processes is a strong plus for designing solutions
aligned with real-world enterprise needs.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to
work both independently and in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Strong enthusiasm for AI, ML, and modern automation tooling, with the ability to architect data
platforms that support advanced analytics and machine learning workloads.
- Ability to influence architectural direction, contribute to long-term data platform strategy, and
guide technical decision-making across teams.
- Working knowledge of Snowflake is a plus.
- Familiarity with BI and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), with the ability to design
semantic layers and data models optimized for analytics consumption.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or similar quantitative field of
study.
