Iron Horse Terminals is seeking coachable, dependable, and safety-focused individuals to join our Train Crew as Switchmen. No rail experience required — just a strong work ethic and the drive to learn.

💼 Why This Role Is a Game Changer

This isn't your typical job. You’ll start by learning the ropes as a Switchman — working hands-on with a close-knit crew to move railcars safely and efficiently. From there, you can advance to Conductor ($23–$25/hr), Engineer ($24–$26/hr), and beyond.

If $18/hr is a step up for you — and you’re looking for a long-term career — we want to hear from you.

🚧 What You’ll Be Doing

  • Working outdoors in all weather
  • Walking up to 6 miles per shift
  • Climbing railcars, coupling and uncoupling them
  • Following strict safety protocols — no shortcuts, no exceptions
  • Communicating by radio and hand signals
  • Learning to think like a strategist — train movement is a puzzle, and you’re the problem-solver

👷 Who We’re Looking For

  • Physically fit – This job requires strength and endurance
  • Routine-oriented – You stick to procedures no matter what’s going on
  • Coachable – You don’t need to know everything, but you do need to listen and learn
  • Team player – You’ll work in crews of 3 and depend on each other daily
  • Dependable – We need people who show up on time, every day
  • Quick thinkers – As you grow into the role, you’ll need to make efficient, strategic decisions

🔧 We Provide

  • Paid training and safety gear
  • HMO health insurance (100% company-paid for employees)
  • Paid holidays and PTO
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Holiday overtime (1.5x pay)
  • Career advancement into high-paying roles

✅ Apply If…

You’re tired of dead-end jobs, and ready to invest in yourself. If you’ve worked in warehouses, landscaping, delivery, construction, or fast-paced food service — and you're looking for better pay and long-term opportunity — this could be your next step.
