We’re seeking an accomplished executive to set the network-wide vision for facilities, utilities, engineering standards, maintenance excellence, and asset lifecycle strategy—driving reliability, sustainability, and operational performance across a complex, regulated environment.

The Head Engineering Technical Operations, Maintenance and Asset Management is responsible for the strategic leadership and management of network related engineering, Calibration, maintenance activities, asset strategy and asset lifecycle management within the organization.

This role ensures that facilities, equipment, and infrastructure are effectively maintained and optimized to support operational efficiency and reliability. The Head Engineering Technical Operations, Maintenance and Assets Management works closely with cross-functional teams and the local site teams (such as engineering & facility, Capex team, and Sustainability) to develop strategies that align with business goals, ensuring safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. 

The Opportunity

As Head of Engineering Technical Operations, Maintenance & Asset Management, you will:

  • Set the enterprise engineering and maintenance strategy—aligning reliability, efficiency, and sustainability targets with business goals.
  • Build and lead a global Community of Practice spanning facilities, engineering, and maintenance to drive consistency, innovation, and best practices.
  • Serve as business process owner for reliability, calibration, preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance—maximizing uptime and asset performance.
  • Define and govern facility and utility engineering design standards in close partnership with metrology, maintenance, and site teams.
  • Lead integrated facilities management in collaboration with site Engineering/Maintenance and Global Capex Procurement—optimizing supplier strategy and outsourcing.
  • Drive continuous improvement and digitalization (e.g., CMMS/EAM, analytics, predictive/prescriptive approaches) to elevate performance and cost efficiency.
  • Champion safety, quality, and compliance—embedding a proactive culture aligned to regulatory and environmental standards.
  • Own the asset strategy and lifecycle plan—maintaining a comprehensive view of technologies, sustainability impact, and Site Master Plans to inform expansion.
  • Partner with executive leadership, Quality, Operations, and Fujifilm Engineering Co., Ltd. (FEC) to influence policy, investment, and enterprise decision-making.
  • Lead, mentor, and scale high-performing teams; oversee function financials with clear P&L accountability.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
  • An advanced degree or professional certification in engineering or maintenance management is preferred.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in project controls, cost management, and scheduling within a Biotech/Pharma industry.
  • At least 10 years leading, managing, and developing people, including a minimum of 4 years leading leaders (Managers/Supervisors).
  • Proven experience in implementing integrated project controls systems and leading cross-functional project teams.
  • Experience working in a changing, project-driven organization.
  • P&L oversight/responsibility.
  • Change management/large transformations or greenfield environment.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Proven experience managing maintenance operations and driving engineering improvements in a regulated industry.
