We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong background in network infrastructure, virtualization, and enterprise systems administration to support mission-critical IT environments. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise infrastructure across Windows, Linux, virtualization, networking, storage, and backup technologies.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting complex enterprise systems, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, implementing virtualization solutions, and maintaining secure, highly available environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise IT infrastructure and network environments
  • Identify technical and security issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide documented recommendations and resolutions
  • Support technical requirements management throughout system planning, implementation, and sustainment
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, and systems administration issues
  • Administer Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain virtualization platforms including Hyper-V, VMware ESX, and VirtualBox
  • Administer Cisco networking technologies, including Cisco IOS and Nexus OS
  • Manage Windows enterprise services including Active Directory, System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), and Virtual Machine Manager (VMM)
  • Design, implement, and support LAN and WAN network infrastructures
  • Design and maintain enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Administer Storage Area Network (SAN) environments, including provisioning, capacity planning, performance tuning, and maintenance
  • Plan and execute Hyper-V migration projects and virtualization upgrades
  • Design enterprise network architectures supporting backup, business continuity, and disaster recovery
  • Evaluate hardware and software technologies against customer requirements and provide technical recommendations
  • Design, implement, and maintain Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) applications
  • Support enterprise network monitoring platforms and infrastructure monitoring solutions
  • Develop scripts to automate system administration and operational tasks
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, cybersecurity personnel, and stakeholders to support enterprise infrastructure initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Must be fully cleared with a recent polygraph

  • Experience administering multiple operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and macOS
  • Experience with virtualization platforms including Hyper-V, VMware ESX, and VirtualBox
  • Experience administering Cisco networking technologies including Cisco IOS and Nexus OS
  • Experience supporting Microsoft enterprise technologies including Active Directory, SCOM, and Virtual Machine Manager (VMM)
  • Experience designing and supporting LAN and WAN environments
  • Experience implementing and maintaining enterprise backup solutions, including Microsoft Data Protection Manager (DPM) and ArcServe Backup Suite
  • Experience administering Storage Area Networks (SAN), including design, provisioning, capacity planning, and maintenance
  • Experience planning and executing Hyper-V migration projects
  • Experience designing enterprise network architectures supporting disaster recovery and business continuity
  • Experience evaluating enterprise hardware and software solutions
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining COTS and GOTS applications
  • Experience with enterprise network monitoring platforms
  • Experience developing automation scripts for systems administration
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Experience supporting secure government or Intelligence Community IT environments
  • Experience with shell scripting and automation
  • Experience administering SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL databases
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server environments, including Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2, and 2016

  • Experience with VMware ESX virtualization
