Northrop Grumman is seeking Product Support Engineers to join the Aeronautics Sector Intern Program. This position will be located in one of the following locations: Palmdale, CA / San Diego, CA / Redondo Beach, CA / El Segundo, CA.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Product Support organization.

As an intern, you’ll participate in a summer internship program to develop competencies in a variety of product support engineering specializations that may include:

  • Support Product Support Engineers in investigating and resolving customer-reported issues, including data gathering, troubleshooting, and documenting findings.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective action activities, preparing clear summaries and updates for internal stakeholders.
  • Help create, update, and maintain technical documentation, work instructions, and training materials for product support.
  • Analyze field performance and reliability data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for product or process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain) to support implementation of product changes and service bulletins.
  • Participate in customer support activities such as preparing presentation materials, tracking open issues, and updating status reports in designated tools/systems

Basic Qualifications: 

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must: 

  • Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university AND graduating after August 2027. 
  • Be majoring in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.
  • Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027 
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25 out of 4.0 or higher  
  • Previous internship/co-op experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular). 
  • Good presentation and writing/communication skills. 
  • Self-motivated, willing to learn, and interested in working in a team environment. 
  • Experience in developing and delivering presentations and leading small groups.   
  • Experience in working in an autonomous work environment on complex projects.   
  • Experience in working on business or engineering full life-cycle projects from project inception through launch.    

Intern Pay Range  

  • Undergraduate degrees (Including graduating students planning on attending/enrolled in a full-time Master’s program): $21.50-$39.00
  • Master’s: $30.50-$48.00

Primary Level Salary Range: $1.00 - $1.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
