Job Summary
The Service Engineer works on rotating equipment (blowers, compressors, vacuum systems) with a strong mechanical focus. Beyond technical activities, they actively contribute to the development of service business by implementing maintenance contracts and recurring revenue models, in order to optimize equipment performance and enhance customer loyalty.
Responsibilities
1. Technical Expertise & Field Interventions (Mechanical focus)
- Perform commissioning of equipment on site
- Diagnose and resolve failures, with a strong focus on mechanical aspects (kinematics, wear, bearings, alignment, etc.)
- Analyze machine performance (efficiency, overheating, operational deviations, etc.)
- Apply concepts of thermodynamics (compression, heat transfer, energy efficiency) to optimize installations
- Write detailed technical reports
2. Service Business Development
- Identify additional revenue opportunities
- Promote and sell services: maintenance, spare parts, retrofits, upgrades
- Build and deploy maintenance contracts
- Develop recurring revenue streams
3. Customer Relationship & Retention
- Act as the technical reference on site
- Build trusted relationships with customers
- Advise on optimal equipment operation
- Support the transition to planned maintenance models
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
4. Continuous Improvement & Field Feedback
- Report recurring technical issues
- Propose product and maintenance improvements
- Contribute to structuring and standardizing service offerings
- Support the improvement of Service practices
5. Internal Support
- Assist sales teams in promoting service solutions
- Contribute to the development of technical proposals
- Train customers and partners on operation and maintenance
Basic Qualifications
- Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in an industrial environment, ideally with rotating equipment
- Experience in service contract development or technical service sales is a strong advantage
- Professional level of English required
- Willingness to travel frequently
Key Competencies
- Strong expertise in rotating machinery mechanics
- Solid knowledge of:

- Understanding of applied thermodynamics principles (compression, losses, efficiency)
- Strong hands-on diagnostic skills
- (Knowledge of electrical engineering/instrumentation is a plus but not essential)
