- Basic Design – Overall single line diagram, Protection & Metering SLD, LV AC/DC SLD, and Layout & Section Drawings.
- Calculations – Grounding calculation and basic mesh plan for outdoor and indoor, Lightning calculation and basic protection plan, Neutral Earthing conductor/cable calculation, CT/VT sizing calculation, Aus.TR sizing calculation, Emergency Diesel Generator sizing calculation, Battery/ Charger sizing calculation, Conductor sizing calculation, Sag Tension calculation, UPS/ Inverter sizing calculation, LV MCCB/MCB sizing calculation, HV/MV cable sizing calculation, LV cable sizing calculation with voltage drop, HV/MV cable support loading calculation, LV cable tray loading calculation, TR/Reactor oil pit sizing calculation, Outdoor/ Indoor lighting calculation and basic plan, Insulation coordination study etc.
- Detailed Drawing – BOM list of bulk materials like Earthing, Illumination, Lightning protection, AIS Conductor, Insulator, Hardware, and Clamps & Connectors, Cable, Cable trays, Steel structure etc.
- Review/ Check all detailed drawings, Checklist & drawing for site survey, Review/ Comment for civil and building drawing, Erection Key BOM & diagram etc.
- Review the contract documents and manage the engineering schedule for Substation projects.
- Review the vendor drawings and evaluate offers for making a contract for Substation projects.
- Review the approval documents and client’s comments for Substation projects.
- Manage the budget and Save the cost for Substation projects.
- Lead the approval of documents and make a design concept for Substation projects.
- Report the progress of engineering and plan a catch-up (if required).
- Coordinate with site and vendor to meet the project schedules.
- Have a meeting with vendor and client.
- Review/ Comment on equipment type test report, FAT report and As-built drawings.
- Support and solve the technical issues with other engineers.
- Preparation of cable interconnection and termination schedule.
- Knowledge in Substation system studies will have added advantage.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Candidates who work for ABB, SIEMENS, GE, L&T, TATA POWER, KEC, KEI, Voltech, 4A Design etc. are preferable.
- Within 10 - 15 years of experience in Power Plant and Substation field.
- Experience of Managing or coordination for Minimum 2 Number of substation engineering.
- Must have knowledge of power grid market & substation product & system offerings.
- Good understanding of engineering procedures which are being followed in Turn-key segment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. (English)
- Person willing to work in stringent timelines.
- Should be a team player and should be capable of handling jobs on set timeline.
- MS-Office, Auto CAD (Minor edit), MS-Project (it is preferred).
- Multi experience like Bids & Proposal engineering and project managing are benefits.
