Full description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Security Engineer based in Brazil.

As a Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in protecting production systems and strengthening security across a rapidly growing technology environment. You will take ownership of security outcomes, from identifying high-impact risks through remediation and continuous improvement. The role combines hands-on application and infrastructure security with threat modeling, monitoring, and incident response. You will partner closely with engineering and product teams to embed security into development and delivery workflows. With significant autonomy, you will help shape security practices while remaining deeply involved in the systems and technologies that matter most. Accountabilities:

  • Identify, prioritize, and drive remediation of the highest-impact security risks across applications, infrastructure, and production systems.
  • Own and improve application security tooling covering source code, software dependencies, secrets, and related security controls.
  • Lead threat modeling, security risk assessments, and architecture reviews for new and existing services.
  • Integrate security practices into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
  • Review, validate, and triage security findings from bug bounty programs, penetration tests, and other security assessments.
  • Lead security monitoring and incident response activities, including alert investigation, incident coordination, remediation, and follow-through.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to establish practical security priorities and ensure remediation efforts are completed effectively.
  • Help develop and continuously improve security processes, standards, and engineering practices across the organization.
  • Take ownership of security deliverables from initial assessment through implementation, validation, and ongoing improvement.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in security engineering with hands-on experience securing production systems.
  • Practical experience integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code environments.
  • Experience with application security, vulnerability management, threat modeling, security assessments, and risk remediation.
  • Familiarity with security tooling for code analysis, dependency management, secrets detection, and related application security controls.
  • Experience investigating security alerts and supporting or leading incident response activities.
  • Ability to assess security risks across complex systems and translate findings into clear, actionable remediation plans.
  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive security initiatives across multiple engineering teams and ensure commitments are delivered.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working with distributed and cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving, product-focused environment with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Ability to balance security requirements with practical business and engineering considerations.
  • Experience working in a high-growth startup or lean engineering organization is a plus.
