About You
You are a product-minded designer who enjoys turning complex business challenges and user needs into simple, intuitive, and scalable digital experiences. You think beyond individual screens, approaching design holistically and considering the entire journey from problem discovery and exploration through validation, implementation, and continuous improvement.
You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, collaborating closely with product and engineering teams, and making thoughtful design decisions that balance user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility. You bring strong product thinking, attention to detail, and a high standard for usability and visual quality, while maintaining consistency across interconnected digital experiences.
You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Product Design, UX/UI Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience.
- 4+ years of professional experience designing digital products and end-to-end user experiences.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating product thinking, problem definition, user flows, interaction design, prototyping, and final UI execution.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including interactive prototypes, components, variants, auto layout, and shared libraries.
- Experience owning design activities throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design, information architecture, interaction design, usability, and accessibility.
- Ability to translate business objectives and user needs into clear product experiences.
- Experience simplifying complex workflows and creating scalable solutions across multiple products or platforms.
- Experience collaborating with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, Analysts, and Designers.
- Experience working with design systems and component-based product development.
- Ability to present design rationale, facilitate alignment, and respond constructively to stakeholder feedback.
- Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and move initiatives forward with limited oversight.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced English proficiency for daily collaboration with international stakeholders.
You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities:
- Own product design initiatives from problem discovery and concept development through implementation and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Product Managers and stakeholders to understand business objectives, user needs, product requirements, and success criteria.
- Map user journeys, workflows, information architecture, and interaction models for complex digital experiences.
- Create sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to communicate and validate potential solutions.
- Design intuitive and consistent experiences across web, mobile, kiosk, and other relevant digital touchpoints.
- Collaborate with Engineering teams to evaluate technical constraints and ensure accurate design implementation.
- Apply and contribute to shared design-system components, patterns, standards, and documentation.
- Participate in research and usability-validation activities and incorporate findings into product decisions.
- Present design solutions and clearly communicate the reasoning, assumptions, and tradeoffs behind them.
- Balance customer needs, business priorities, technical feasibility, and delivery timelines.
- Work across multiple product teams while maintaining alignment throughout the broader digital ecosystem.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing experiences using customer feedback, research findings, product data, and stakeholder input.
- Review implemented functionality and partner with Engineering and QA to ensure the final experience meets the intended design standards.
- Contribute to design critiques, product-planning discussions, and continuous improvement of the team’s design practices.
Note: Figma is the primary design tool for this role. AI-based design tools are not currently part of the approved workflow.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of Digital Product / UX/UI Design experience.
- Strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end product design case studies.
- Advanced hands-on proficiency with Figma.
- Experience owning the full product design lifecycle.
- Experience designing customer-facing web and mobile products.
- Advanced English proficiency.
