Join us!

Would you like to join a team developing Android applications and features for Volvo CE wheel loaders used around the world, and help customers improve efficiency, productivity and safety?

Why join Volvo CE Technology

In Eskilstuna, you work close to both the code and the physical product, our wheel loaders. That means fast feedback, clear impact, and a day-to-day where theory meets reality.

This position is on-site at Volvo CE’s largest Technology Center. Our test tracks and development grounds are just outside the door, making it easy to connect software development with real machine behavior.

You will join a down-to-earth, highly skilled team where we support each other, test early, and solve problems together. Leadership is close and transparent, with a focus on clear goals, freedom with responsibility, and room to grow.

Eskilstuna offers short commutes, nature close by, and a great base for both family life and leisure, while you work in a truly global engineering environment.

This is us

Wheel Loader SW is part of the Volvo CE Technology organization and is responsible for the machine software lifecycle. We create robust, reliable, and high-quality machine control software that supports the machine and its operators. We work in a global product context and interact across the Technology domain.

What you will do

  • Develop Android applications for our Co-Pilot display and next-generation machine interfaces
  • Help shape HMI concepts that connect user experience and machine functionality
  • Work closely with the physical product and validate your software in real machines on our nearby test track
  • Take part in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design to implementation, verification, and release
  • Collaborate in a cross-functional agile team to deliver robust, maintainable, and user-friendly solutions
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and the transformation of a mechanical product into a modern software-driven product

Who we are looking for

You are passionate about software, machine interaction, and creating solutions that bring real value to users and customers. You enjoy working across disciplines, thrive in an agile setup, and build trust through transparency, commitment, and reliability. We welcome both experienced and early-career applicants. If you do not meet every qualification, we still encourage you to apply.

We believe you have

  • A degree in engineering or a related field
  • Experience developing Android applications and strong skills in Java and Kotlin
  • A focus on readable, maintainable, and high-quality code
  • Strong collaboration skills and an ability to work effectively in a team
  • A curious and open mindset with drive and accountability
  • Willingness to relocate to the Eskilstuna area and work onsite daily

Experience in HMI development, as well as experience within the automotive, heavy equipment, or embedded software domain, is considered a merit. Experience with UI/UX collaboration is also an advantage. Swedish communication skills, or the willingness to learn Swedish, are preferred. In addition, a mindset focused on continuous improvement, learning, and knowledge sharing is valued.

Are we a perfect match?

We can’t promise you an effortless job, but we can promise you skilled colleagues, exciting challenges, and the opportunity to make a real impact. You will help shape how Volvo CE continues its technology shift, both in terms of machine functionality and future digital solutions.

You will work in a global environment that offers development opportunities both professionally and personally.
