We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Tech Lead to lead the architecture, design, development, and delivery of a next-generation Cybersecurity SaaS Platform spanning SIEM, EDR, XDR, security analytics, threat detection, and automated response.
The role requires a strong software engineering background combined with expertise in cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, cybersecurity platforms, high-volume data processing, and DevSecOps. You will work closely with Product, Architecture, Security, QA, DevOps, and Engineering teams to build scalable, secure, highly available platforms capable of processing large volumes of security telemetry and supporting real-time detection, investigation, and response.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES• Lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable cybersecurity SaaS platforms.
- Translate product and security requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
- Design cloud-native and multi-tenant SaaS architectures using AWS and/or Azure.
- Develop distributed, microservices-based, streaming, and event-driven systems for high-volume security data.
- Contribute to SIEM, EDR/XDR, security analytics, threat detection, alert correlation, and automated response capabilities.
- Design and optimise large-scale security telemetry ingestion, processing, storage, search, and analytics pipelines.
- Work with technologies such as Kafka, distributed data processing platforms, data lakes/lakehouses, SQL/NoSQL databases, and search platforms.
- Drive engineering standards for performance, scalability, reliability, security, observability, testing, and maintainability.
- Lead architecture reviews, technical design discussions, code reviews, and technical problem-solving.
- Own the software development lifecycle across requirements, design, development, testing, CI/CD, deployment, production validation, and monitoring.
- Establish automated unit, integration, security, and performance testing practices.
- Drive release planning, versioning, branching strategies, deployment automation, rollback planning, hotfixes, and production releases.
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
- Implement DevSecOps practices, including secure coding, vulnerability management, SAST, DAST, SCA, container security, and infrastructure security scanning.
- Work with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CloudFormation, and other cloud-native and Infrastructure-as-Code technologies.
- Identify technical risks, bottlenecks, dependencies, and production issues and drive them through to resolution.
- Mentor and guide software engineers, review technical implementations, and establish effective engineering practices.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Security, Architecture, QA, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams.
- Contribute to technical hiring, interviews, team development, and engineering capability building.
WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in a technical leadership role preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and developing scalable SaaS and cloud-native applications.
- Strong expertise in distributed systems, microservices, system design, REST APIs, and event-driven architectures.
- Strong programming experience in one or more of Java, Go, Python, or Node.js/TypeScript.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, automated testing, and production troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of SIEM, EDR/XDR, SOC operations, security event processing, threat detection, alert correlation, incident response, and security analytics.
- Knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework and modern cybersecurity practices.
- Experience working with high-volume data ingestion, streaming architectures, distributed processing, and real-time analytics.
- Strong SQL and database fundamentals, with experience across relational and NoSQL technologies.
- Experience with technologies such as Kafka, Flink, Spark, Trino, ClickHouse, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, or comparable platforms is advantageous.
- Experience building commercial cybersecurity products or platforms is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of SOAR, automated security response, AI/ML-based security analytics, or AI-driven SOC automation is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of secure software development and DevSecOps practices.
- Experience with production systems, incident management, observability, and release management.
- Strong ownership, problem-solving, communication, mentoring, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to remain hands-on while leading engineers and making complex technical decisions.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
