About Atlys

Our mission is to enable every person on Earth to travel freely.

Travel should feel exciting. Instead, too much of it is still defined by paperwork, uncertainty, and processes that were never designed for travellers.

Atlys is changing that.

We're building an AI-first platform that removes friction and uncertainty from travel. To date, we've processed visas for 1M+ travellers across 127 countries. But we're still early.

The Role

We're looking for an Android Engineer to build and scale the Atlys Android app, helping millions of travellers apply for visas faster and with less uncertainty, right from their phones.

This role is for someone with a strong foundation in native Android development who obsesses over performance, polish and reliability, and who enjoys owning features end to end.

The Job

  • Build and ship core app experiences in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose across the visa journey, from discovery and document upload to payments and application tracking.
  • Own app quality and performance, keeping startup time, crash and ANR rates, app size and battery usage in check across a wide range of devices and network conditions.
  • Bring AI into the app by turning AI-powered flows such as smart document capture, conversational assistance into fast, native experiences.
  • Ship fast with product, design and backend, running experiments and iterating on features based on data.
  • Raise the engineering bar through clean architecture, thoughtful code reviews, automated testing and CI/CD.

The Ideal Candidate

You'll likely thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 3-5 years of Android development experience, including shipping and scaling at least one consumer app on the Play Store.
  • Are exceptionally strong in Kotlin, including coroutines and Flow, with hands-on experience in Jetpack Compose and Android Jetpack libraries.
  • Have a solid grasp of modern app architecture (MVVM/MVI, Clean Architecture), dependency injection (Hilt or Dagger) and modularisation.
  • Have built robust networking and data layers using REST/GraphQL APIs, Retrofit/OkHttp, Room and offline-first patterns.
  • Know how to measure and improve app health using tools such as Firebase Crashlytics, Android Profiler and analytics or experimentation SDKs.
  • Have exposure to CameraX, ML Kit or on-device ML, payment integrations, Kotlin Multiplatform, or building in fintech, travel or other high-compliance domains (a strong plus).

Here's what you can expect:

  • Competitive compensation and equity so you participate in the value you help create.
  • Comprehensive health insurance covering you and your family, plus annual preventive health check-up on us.
  • A thoughtful leave policy with paid time off and company holidays, because great work also requires real time off.
  • Lunch, high tea and dinner at the office, so the basics are taken care of while we build together.
  • Learning & development credits to invest in courses, books, conferences and tools that help you get better at your craft.
  • Relocation support to make moving closer to the team as seamless as possible.
  • Great tools to do your best work, including high-spec equipment and software.
  • An office designed for more than just work, with pickleball, table tennis, PlayStation, an arcade game room, an F1 simulator and even a full flight simulator.

Our values shape how we make decisions, work together and build for travelers. The bar is high, the pace is fast, and the way we work is deliberate. Read them before you apply. If this environment energizes you, you'll probably thrive here. If it doesn't, it's better to know that upfront.
