Heartline Staffing is recruiting an Applications Engineer for an onsite opportunity in New Haven, Connecticut. This position supports domestic and international sales channels through technical product selection, quoting, troubleshooting, and application support for pumps, controls, replacement parts, and related equipment.
POSITION OVERVIEW This is a customer-facing technical role combining applications engineering, sales support, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving. The Applications Engineer works directly with distributors and end users to understand applications, select appropriate products, prepare quotations, troubleshoot technical issues, and support sales and product-training initiatives.
The position is part of an Inside Sales organization and works cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, and Controls. The team includes five Applications Engineers and provides opportunities for exposure beyond engineering into manufacturing, production, commercial operations, and business margins.
COMPENSATION
- Base Salary: $70,000-$85,000 Based On Experience

APPLICATIONS ENGINEERING RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work Directly With Distributors And End Users To Identify Pump Selection Criteria
- Determine The Market And Application Requirements For Pump Products
- Select Appropriate Products Including Pumps, Controls, Replacement And Spare Parts, And Submersible Pump Accessories
- Prepare Product Quotations Using Published Price Lists And Product Data
- Identify Competitor Products And Appropriate Product Equivalents
- Identify Product Applications, Features And Potential New Applications
- Evaluate Pumped-Liquid Physical Properties And Match Them With Available Product Materials
- Identify Control Panel Requirements And Logic
- Develop Engineered Panel Requirements With The Controls Group
