Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on QA Lead to establish and lead the Quality Assurance function for an advanced Industrial AI platform that combines Industrial Connectivity, Edge Computing, Cloud Technologies, and AI-driven solutions.
This is a unique opportunity to build the QA function from the ground up while taking ownership of quality across a complex and evolving software platform.
The role combines hands-on testing, test automation, quality strategy, process definition, and close collaboration with Software Engineering, AI, and DevOps teams.
Initially, you will be the primary QA professional within the organization, responsible for defining methodologies, building testing capabilities, and ensuring high product quality. As the organization grows, you will have the opportunity to expand and lead a small QA team.
Job Responsibilities
- Establish and lead the QA function across the organization's software products.
- Define and implement QA methodologies, standards, processes, and best practices.
- Create and maintain test strategies, test plans, test cases, and quality metrics.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and automated test suites.
- Perform hands-on manual and automated testing across software releases.
- Validate functionality across Cloud, Edge, and AI-enabled system components.
- Test web-based user interfaces, backend services, APIs, and system integrations.
- Collaborate closely with Software Engineers, AI and Data Science teams, and DevOps engineers to ensure product quality throughout the development lifecycle.
- Define and implement quality gates for software releases.
- Identify, document, track, and help resolve software defects.
- Drive continuous improvements in software quality, testing coverage, and release confidence.
- Contribute to performance and scalability testing initiatives as the platform evolves.
- Help build and grow the QA organization over time.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is a hands-on QA professional who enjoys building processes, improving quality, and taking ownership of testing across an entire platform.
You are comfortable working independently and taking ownership of quality across the platform, while partnering closely with Software Engineers, AI and Data Science teams, DevOps engineers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
You enjoy creating order, improving engineering quality, and building scalable QA capabilities that support long-term product growth.
Location
Hybrid role – Herzliya / Caesarea / 1 day a week from home
Minimum Qualifications
- B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
- Significant experience in Quality Assurance for complex software products.
- Previous experience leading QA teams, QA processes, or quality initiatives in a software organization.
- Strong hands-on experience in both Manual Testing and Test Automation.
- Experience designing and implementing QA methodologies and testing strategies.
- Strong experience with Python and automated testing frameworks such as Pytest.
- Experience testing web applications, backend services, and distributed systems.
- Experience creating test plans, test cases, and end-to-end testing scenarios.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of quality initiatives.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Additional Requirements
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with AWS cloud environments and cloud-based applications.
- Experience testing Edge and distributed systems.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
- Experience with API testing and integration testing.
- Experience with performance, scalability, or load testing.
- Experience with Operational Technology (OT), industrial systems, OPC UA, PLCs, or SCADA is a significant advantage.
- Experience working with Industrial IoT (IIoT) environments.
- Familiarity with frontend testing tools and methodologies
