Description of the position:

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and delivery teams within a SAFe / Agile environment. You will lead requirements elicitation, own backlog health and structure in Azure DevOps (ADO) Boards, produce high-quality Business Requirements Documents, and actively support QA activities throughout the delivery lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings a strong analytical mindset, sharp communication skills, and the ability to operate confidently at both strategic planning and sprint execution levels.

This is your job:

• Lead discovery sessions with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document requirements. Produce comprehensive Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), functional specifications, use cases, and well-formed acceptance criteria.
• Operate as an effective contributor within a SAFe delivery framework, participating in PI Planning, Iteration Reviews, Backlog Refinement, and Retrospectives. Maintain continuous alignment between business priorities and team-level execution.
• Own and manage the team's Azure DevOps Boards – authoring and maintaining Epics, Features, User Stories, Tasks, and Bugs with clear descriptions, acceptance criteria, priority rankings, and traceability links. Maintain backlog health, sprint readiness, and reporting accuracy through queries, dashboards, and board configuration.
• Serve as the primary liaison between business owners, product management, and engineering teams. Facilitate workshops, prioritization sessions, and formal sign offs.
• Collaborate with QA engineers and developers to review test cases, validate implemented features that satisfy acceptance criteria, coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and participate in defect triage and resolution tracking.
• Map current and future-state business processes, identify capability gaps, and recommend improvements aligned with delivery goals and organizational standards.
• Track and report on delivery progress, backlog health, velocity, and key KPIs using ADO dashboards, queries, and reporting views.

Your Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in a software delivery context.
• Expert proficiency in Azure DevOps Boards – backlog management, board and sprint configuration, reporting, query authoring, and dashboard creation.
• Demonstrated experience producing comprehensive BRDs, functional specifications, and user stories with clearly defined, testable acceptance criteria.
• Proven track record of operating within SAFe or scaled Agile frameworks, with familiarity across key SAFe roles, events, and artifacts.
• Strong facilitation and communication skills, with experience managing diverse and senior stakeholder groups.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience supporting QA activities — reviewing and contributing to test cases, assisting with UAT planning and execution, and participating in structured defect triage.

Nice to Have

• SAFe certification (SAFe Agilist, SAFe POPM, or equivalent).
• Experience working on data-driven or analytics products and the ability to interpret dashboards and technical reports.
• Functional literacy around API-driven systems and the ability to read and interpret technical specifications at a conceptual level.
• Experience with process modeling tools and notations (BPMN, Visio, Lucidchart, Miro).
• Background in geospatial, mapping, or location-intelligence domains.
