Are You a Fit?
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Experience: Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT processes); background in designing and implementing data warehouse architectures and data lakes; experience managing distributed computing systems and handling large-scale, high-throughput datasets; demonstrated experience in data modeling (e.g., dimensional modeling, star schemas, data vault).
- Technical Skills: Advanced relational and non-relational database design and optimization; stream and batch data processing paradigms; data pipeline orchestration and workflow management; cloud infrastructure paradigms and data security/governance best practices; version control and CI/CD principles.
- Tech Stack: Azure / Databricks (Asset Bundles, Unity Catalog), Advanced SQL, DaaS / Data Contracts.
- Systems Thinking: Ability to see how individual data pipelines impact the entire organizational ecosystem.
- Meticulousness: A fierce commitment to data quality, accuracy, and system reliability.
- Collaboration: Ability to bridge the gap between software engineers (who generate data) and data consumers (who use it).
Nice-to-Have Skills
- AI Tooling Proficiency: Leverage one or more AI tools to optimize and augment day-to-day work, including workflow automation, data processing, or research. Identify opportunities to streamline data engineering processes.
