Security Automation Engineer (Python) | About You

As a Security Automation Engineer (Python), you are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining production-grade automation solutions that enhance security operations. You have strong Python development expertise, cloud engineering experience, and a solid understanding of security tooling, enabling you to develop scalable integrations, data pipelines, and AI-augmented workflows that improve operational efficiency across enterprise environments.

Security Automation Engineer (Python) | Day-to-Day

  • Develop and maintain Python-based automation solutions, data pipelines, API integrations, workflow orchestration, and reporting capabilities supporting security and cloud operations.
  • Integrate and automate enterprise security platforms such as SAST, DAST, CNAPP/CSPM, SIEM, GRC, ITSM, secrets management, and ticketing systems using REST APIs.
  • Build AI-assisted workflows to automate security finding triage, classification, routing, and reporting while reducing manual effort through scalable automation.
  • Deploy and support cloud-native solutions on AWS, leveraging services such as Lambda, ECS/Fargate, S3, IAM, and API Gateway.
  • Maintain and improve existing automation frameworks through code refactoring, testing, documentation, CI/CD enhancements, and Infrastructure as Code best practices.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate security and business requirements into reliable, maintainable, and scalable software solutions.

Security Automation Engineer (Python) | Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of professional Python development experience building production-grade applications, automation frameworks, data pipelines, API integrations, and data processing solutions utilizing JSON, CSV, XML, YAML, and related technologies.
  • Strong experience with REST APIs, including OAuth/token-based authentication, pagination, rate limiting, retry logic, and integration of enterprise security and operational platforms.
  • Hands-on expertise with AWS cloud services, including Lambda, ECS/Fargate, S3, IAM, API Gateway, cloud networking, security best practices, and supporting production workloads.
  • Proficiency with Terraform, Git, and GitHub Actions CI/CD, including Infrastructure as Code, automated deployments, testing frameworks, code reviews, pull requests, and collaborative development practices.
  • Working knowledge of application security and cloud security concepts, including OWASP Top 10, secure coding practices, vulnerability management, IAM, network security, cloud security posture management, and enterprise security operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience), with excellent communication skills and experience working within security operations, IT operations, or enterprise-scale technology environments.
