As a DTICI_Network Communication_Senior Engineer_T8, you will be playing an vital role of vehicle networking communication development for all brands of Daimler Truck & Buses across the globe. As a key member of the Network Communication team (within of global Architecture & Powernet Cross-function) at Daimler Truck Innovation Center India, you will design of Vehicle Messages Matrix for different vehicle projects, monitor network resource/loading & drive patching tool development, ensuring efficient and high-quality delivery. Also, your expertise will be instrumental in supporting various technology, process efficiency, and AI/ML initiatives within the department, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Act as single point of contact for common technical areas across customer domains/cross-functions (e.g. Network Resource Monitoring, Patching Tooling, etc.) & drive solutions via needed collaboration.
- Take up PO delegation responsibility for assigned ECUs for assigned Vehicle Domain Cluster (VDC) from Network Communication point of view as applicable
- Drive network resource monitoring, patching tooling & other process/product efficiiecy innitiatives using AI/ML & Automation.
- Manage multiple stakeholders related to the VDC across the organization over the globe and understand their requirements
- Drive/ Conduct technical scope analysis for the Change Requests from stakeholders of the assigned VDC & Patching Tooling need, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the applicable stakeholders for any clarification as needed related to their requirements.
- Drive/conduct deep impact analysis of the new requirements on existing EE networks/architectures and components of the assigned VDC.
- Analyse/apply Network Communication guidelines/best practices and latest Autosar requirements as applicable.
- Derive the implementable communication needs from the change requests and propose the most viable solutions accordingly.
- Implement the derived communication & patching solutions to fulfil the ECU/Feature owner requirements using applicable tools within Daimler Truck.
- Create, validate & deliver the patched ECU Extract as the final solution output as a part of the assigned VDC.
- Analyse the feedback received by stakeholders related to the ECU Extract and take corrective actions as applicable.
- Develop scripts using Python or any other scripting language as needed for automating certain activities in overall delivery process as applicable.
- Drive collaborations within Architecture & Powernet Cross-Function as well as externally with all stakeholders.
- Contribute as part the Agile team in sync with Product Owner & Scrum Master
- Take up Scrum Master & Release Engineer roles as applicable with the assigned VDC / Platform.
- Bring up & drive new ideas (Innovation, Gen AI, etc) for efficiency & productivity improvement
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in vehicle networking technologies and trends.
- Drive technical knowledge sharing sessions as well as share own technical expertise to other team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
- Engage in continuous technical learning and professional development to stay ahead in the field.
- Continuously develop knowledge as well as stay up to date about Daimler Truck Products, Architectures, Network Topologies & E2E Vehicle Features.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a similar technical lead role, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Masters/Bachelors Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
- Hands on Experience in AI/ML, Automation & Tooling Development
- Experience in Vehicle Networking, preferably for Commercial Vehicles, and related Tools for Network Communication Design.
- Expertise in Network Communication technologies/protocols.
- Well-versed with Architecture & Powernet (A&P) concepts and able to apply Vehicle Message Matrix implementations.
- Knowledgeable in Functional Safety & Cyber Security (SecOC, E2E Protection, etc) concepts.
- Experience in any of the customer feature domains, e.g. Body Controls, Steering/Chassis, Powertrain, Energy Efficiency, Driver Experience, ADAS, Connectivity, etc.
- Very good knowledge of scripting languages, e.g. Python, Java, Rust, etc
- Proven ability to propose/develop solutions to complex technical problems in the assigned customer feature domain within NC & anchor cross-functionally.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct thorough Scope/Impact analysis.
- Very good communication, presentation & collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.
- Ability to employ AI and innovation in day-to-day product development activities, and a passion for driving process efficiency.
- Experience working in international/multinational setups is preferred
