THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Senior Business Analyst, Legal Operations, you will lead automation initiatives and help deliver technology solutions that enhance how Legal Affairs operates. Partnering with legal, business, and technology teams, you will drive projects from requirements through implementation while contributing to the ongoing evolution of BCI's legal technology ecosystem.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
Reporting to the Program Lead, Legal Operations, the Senior Business Analyst leads complex automation and technology initiatives that support Legal Affairs' strategic objectives. Acting as the bridge between business and technology teams, the Senior BA drives work from requirements gathering through implementation, ensuring solutions improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and deliver measurable value. The role requires a high degree of independence and collaboration with stakeholders across Legal Affairs and the broader organization.
You will join the Legal Operations team, a centre of excellence within Legal Affairs focused on innovation, process improvement, and technology enablement. Partnering closely with the Chief Legal Officer, legal professionals, business stakeholders, and technology teams, Legal Operations leads strategic initiatives that enhance efficiency, optimize operations, and support the ongoing evolution of Legal Affairs at BCI.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience working in a project environment or a business transformation role
- 3+ years of experience in process analysis and design for functions similar to those within an in-house legal department
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in business analysis, process improvement, data modelling, and workflow innovation
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead meetings, influence discussions, and adapt communication style to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience implementing, configuring, or optimizing technology platforms to meet evolving business needs
- Ability to analyze and synthesize business requirements, including identifying patterns and conceptualizing processes
- Working knowledge of AI tools and an interest in applying them to improve legal and business processes
Preferred
- CBAP, PMP, or other relevant certifications
- Experience designing and developing process automations and workflow solutions using low-code/no-code platforms, preferably Microsoft Power Apps
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Leads the Legal Affairs’ automation program, including establishing an automation backlog, enabling leadership to prioritize competing opportunities, and providing a portfolio view of in-flight initiatives
- Evaluates, pilots, and implements AI tools and automation solutions that reduce manual effort and improve throughput across Legal Affairs
- Acts as a subject matter expert and internal champion for process improvement, staying current on emerging tools, AI developments, and industry best practices in automating legal operations
- Leads process design changes, conducting business and systems process analysis/design at a complex level; focusing on quality improvement and data management; ensuring data is reliable and valid
- Develops actionable roadmaps and project plans to ensure accurate translation of the future state vision into implemented solutions, representing the business process owner's interest during project execution
- Develops playbooks for recurring initiatives, including automations and Agentic AI solutions, to standardize delivery and accelerate adoption
- Translates business requirements into insightful project documentation (business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals)
- Conducts ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues
- Ensures smooth transition from project to business-as-usual operations
- Develops or arranges training on new procedure and application functionality
- Supports corporate or department priority projects as assigned

This role will be based in our office in downtown Victoria, BC.
SALARY RANGE
The annualized salary range for this role is CAD $106,000 to $128,000.

We pay our people competitively in the markets in which we operate and with consideration for internal equity and job structure. The base salary will consider factors such as the individual's skill set, experience, and internal equity. We aim for actual pay to be around the market median for expected performance and the upper quartile for excellent performance. Actual salaries may vary based on experience and expertise.
