WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Solutions Architect provides comprehensive pre-sales technical consulting and solution design support for enterprise managed network solutions. Operating in a sales engineering capacity, you will partner closely with Sales to understand each customer's business and technical requirements, develop solutions that leverage SageNet's capabilities, and clearly communicate the technical and business value of those solutions.
Serving as a trusted technical resource throughout the sales process, the Solutions Architect leads technical discovery, develops network solution architectures, validates operational feasibility, supports solution costing and proposals, and partners with Sales to move opportunities from initial concept through close.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain strong technical relationships with prospective and existing customers.
- Lead pre-sales discovery and technical discussions to understand customer business objectives, technical requirements, challenges, and desired outcomes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on SageNet services, solutions, technologies, and equipment offerings.
- Design comprehensive enterprise network solutions across LAN, WLAN, WAN, SD-WAN, Fiber, Cable Modem, Cellular, Starlink Internet connectivity, and related technologies based on customer requirements, SageNet's products and services, and future product roadmaps.
- Perform technical and business due diligence on proposed solutions, including requirements, dependencies, risks, and overall solution viability.
- Partner with internal Operations, Engineering, Product, and other teams to validate the operational feasibility and deliverability of proposed solutions.
- Develop accurate solution documentation and identify the components necessary to support solution costing and pricing.
- Clearly communicate the technical capabilities, value, and advantages of proposed SageNet solutions to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Partner with Account Managers and Sales leadership to develop account strategies, pricing approaches, and ROI considerations.
- Support Sales throughout the opportunity lifecycle and actively contribute to moving opportunities toward successful close.
- Coordinate cross-functional resources to develop high-quality RFP, RFI, and RFQ responses.
- Develop and deliver technical presentations, solution demonstrations, proposals, technical documentation, application notes, test plans, and other customer-facing materials.
- Collaborate with Product Management to evaluate the feasibility and applicability of new products, technologies, and services.
- Build productive relationships with technology partners and suppliers while maintaining awareness of emerging technologies and market developments.
- Identify opportunities to develop new customer solutions and improve or streamline the delivery of existing SageNet solutions.

You are a technically strong, customer-focused professional who can translate complex business and network requirements into practical solutions. You are comfortable leading technical conversations with enterprise customers while also partnering closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations, Product, and technology partners. You combine strong technical knowledge with business acumen, curiosity, and the communication skills needed to make complex solutions understandable and compelling.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of technical pre-sales, sales engineering, solutions architecture, or similar experience supporting enterprise network solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise networking technologies, protocols, routing, WAN concepts, and network architectures.
- Experience gathering and translating business and technical requirements into detailed network solutions.
- Experience supporting large enterprise customers and complex network environments.
- Strong business and technical acumen with the ability to connect network solutions to customer business objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical discovery and communicate complex networking concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, listening, and solution design skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to establish trusted technical relationships with customers and collaborate effectively with Sales, Engineering, Operations, Product, and technology partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing network architectures using Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, or similar technologies.
- Experience with LAN, WLAN, WAN, SD-WAN, connectivity and related enterprise networking solutions.
- Experience with access technologies including broadband, cellular, satellite, and high-capacity connectivity solutions.
- Hands-on experience configuring, deploying, or managing enterprise networking equipment.
- Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, or other relevant professional networking certifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while delivering presentations.
- Ability to participate in occasional physically demanding activities, such as trade show setup or equipment installation.
- Extensive use of hands and fingers for typing, handling equipment, baggage, and paperwork.
- Extensive use of vision for reviewing contracts, technical documentation, and information electronically or in physical form.
- Ability to travel domestically by car or plane.
