Description

Job Description: Our MPJV, CVTEK, is seeking a Database Administrator to manage the administration of computerized databases within a secure DoD enclave. You will ensure optimal database design, sustained data integrity, and high availability while orchestrating complex data exports required for a strategic enterprise migration. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide full-lifecycle Microsoft SQL Server administration for development, testing, and production environments operating in an Impact Level 4 (IL-4) security enclave.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the PMO, developers, data center teams, and Information Systems Security Officers (ISSOs) to ensure optimal relational database performance, routine maintenance, and backups.
  • Apply required IAVMs and software patches to maintain a clean security stance and ensure enclave compliance.
  • Evaluate business requirements and workflows, applying data modeling techniques to design logical and physical database architectures.
  • Support data integration testing, generate database rollback plans for CCB release packages, and implement schema changes through approved workflows.
  • Design and maintain the Information Systems Contingency Plan (ISCP) and serve as the Tier III lead for troubleshooting database-related outages impacting global users.
  • Perform comprehensive data modeling, validation, and export operations. Execute data staging and cleanup to facilitate legacy module decommissioning and integration into new enterprise systems.
  • Provide sustainment support to co-located databases (e.g., DTMS) within the infrastructure, and contribute database metrics and documentation to overarching project management and training efforts.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Location: Primary performance at the Contractor Site, with requirements to support classified/unclassified work at Government locations (Ft. Meade, MD).
  • Security Clearance: Must possess an active Secret security clearance. This position requires IT-I and IT-II eligibility for SIPRNet/administrative access and the ability to successfully pass enterprise-level background suitability screening. U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Experience: Demonstrated professional experience in a relevant database engineering mission area.
  • Degree Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (equivalent professional experience may be considered).
  • Certifications: DoD 8570.01-M / 8140.01 compliant IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE, or equivalent) for IT/IA access required.
