Lead a high-performing Ground Engineering team while shaping the future of geotechnical services across British Columbia and Yukon. Based in Vancouver and reporting to the Director of Ground Engineering, this dual role combines people leadership with senior geotechnical expertise, providing an opportunity to drive growth, technical excellence, and project success across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and development projects.

You will join a large, dynamic team of geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists, project coordinators, and project managers supporting projects in the Municipal Utility, Transportation, Oil & Gas, Power & Energy, and Industrial sectors. As Group Manager, you will play a key role in building our Ground Engineering practice and creating lasting impact for clients, communities, and colleagues.

Your Impact

  • Lead the operational performance, growth, and delivery excellence of a Ground Engineering team.
  • Champion safety (HSE), Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Ethics & Compliance to foster a strong and inclusive culture.
  • Manage technical professionals, project delivery teams, and business operations while supporting career and technical development.
  • Drive regional growth by strengthening client relationships and supporting financial performance objectives.
  • Mentor and develop team members through technical guidance, coaching, and leadership.
  • Partner with senior leaders on business development activities, including proposals, client engagement, and project positioning.
  • Provide senior-level geotechnical review, technical advice, and quality oversight for project deliverables.
  • Manage projects from proposal through implementation, including contract review, financial management, delivery oversight, and client relationship management.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geoscience, or another related technical discipline.
  • 8 to 15 years of consulting experience with a focus on geotechnical projects.
  • Professional registration with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams, including performance management, coaching, and employee development.
  • Strong health and safety leadership and commitment to operational excellence.
  • Proven ability to prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and project documentation.
  • Experience with strategic planning, business growth initiatives, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguity, and build strong cross-disciplinary partnerships.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $115,700 – $155,400 MB & ON: $105,500 – $147,400 NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $104,500 – $140,700
