This role will be performed on-site in Huntsville, AL.
Summit TRC is seeking to add a Cybersecurity Analyst to our team. This role works to identify cybersecurity risks, assess system security, support secure system development, and troubleshoot security-related issues across complex technical environments. Responsibilities:
- Identify and address cybersecurity requirements and risks throughout the system lifecycle.
- Perform security assessments, vulnerability analysis, and technical reviews of systems, applications, networks, and integrated capabilities.
- Support the implementation and verification of cybersecurity controls across hardware, software, network, and system interfaces.
- Analyze system configurations, logs, network traffic, and technical data to identify security issues and potential vulnerabilities.
- Assist with vulnerability remediation, system hardening, security testing, and verification activities.
- Collaborate with engineers to develop practical cybersecurity solutions that support mission requirements without unnecessarily impacting system performance or usability.
- Support cybersecurity documentation, technical reports, system security artifacts, and assessment activities.
- Participate in system integration and test events, troubleshooting cybersecurity issues alongside engineering teams.
- Research emerging threats, vulnerabilities, security technologies, and applicable cybersecurity standards.
- Contribute to automation and scripting efforts that improve security analysis, testing, monitoring, or system assessment processes.
- Support secure configuration and deployment of systems across development, integration, and operational environments.
- Communicate technical cybersecurity findings and recommendations to engineers, technical leads, and program stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline
- Active security clearance
- 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, systems engineering, network security, software security, or a related technical field.
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management, system hardening, network security, and security assessment methodologies.
- Experience working with Windows and/or Linux environments.
- Experience with networking concepts, protocols, and common security technologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and communicate findings effectively with engineering teams.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) systems or mission-critical programs.
- Experience with RMF, NIST 800-53, STIGs, ATO processes, or related DoD cybersecurity frameworks.
- Familiarity with vulnerability scanning and security assessment tools.
- Experience with scripting or automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages.
- Experience analyzing network traffic using tools such as Wireshark.
- Experience with SIEM, endpoint security, intrusion detection, or other security monitoring technologies.
- Familiarity with secure software development practices and DevSecOps environments.
- Experience supporting system integration, verification, validation, or test activities.
- Security+ or another DoD 8570/8140-aligned certification.
