About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. 

This is a full-time, on-site position located at any FirstEnergy location. Akron, OH FirstEnergy Headquarters or Greensburg, PA are preferred.

Position Summary:

This position is in FirstEnergy’s Energy Efficiency Department on the Reporting team.

This position is responsible for compiling and reporting information on FirstEnergy’s multi-state Energy Efficiency portfolio operations, supporting the Companies’ Energy Efficiency Tracking and Reporting system, and performing analysis against approved regulatory plan expectations, compliance benchmarks, and industry best practices. Information will be used to develop regulatory filings and management reports that highlight program progress and trends.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare timely regulatory and management reports in accordance with state, federal, and company requirements.
  • Analyze program performance and compliance against approved regulatory plans and benchmarks.
  • Support regulatory filings and recommend program changes to maintain compliance.
  • Reconcile and validate Energy Efficiency Tracking and Reporting System data.
  • Investigate data discrepancies, identify anomalies, and ensure data integrity.
  • Develop expertise in energy efficiency program data, technologies, and processes.
  • Monitor program budgets, participation, and performance against forecasts and targets.
  • Conduct benchmarking analyses against peer utilities, regional organizations, and industry best practices.
  • Provide insights on portfolio trends, operational performance, and strategic opportunities.
  • Support reporting system enhancements, testing, configuration, and vendor-related activities.
  • Assist with technical reporting and program implementation needs.
  • Develop presentations and reporting materials for management, regulators, and stakeholder groups.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related discipline, and 4+ years (Business Analyst) or 7+ years (Advanced/Senior) of professional experience.
  • Utility, energy efficiency, demand response, or regulated industry experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work collaboratively, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
