Are you a Java engineer passionate about building platforms and frameworks that enable other developers to move faster? eBay’s Global Platform team is looking for a Java Platform Engineer to join our growing team in Bangalore.

You’ll be part of the Frameworks team, building and evolving the Java platform that powers eBay’s site-facing REST, GraphQL, and Batch applications. You’ll contribute to Raptor.io, eBay’s Spring Boot-based Java Developer Platform, used by engineering teams across eBay.

Your customers are eBay developers. You’ll build reusable frameworks, automation, and platform capabilities that simplify how applications are developed, tested, deployed, and operated at scale.

What You’ll Do

  • Platform & Framework Development: Build and evolve our Java and Spring Boot platform, creating reusable capabilities for thousands of internal applications.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Own features from design and development through automated testing, deployment, production operations, and support.
  • Build & Deployment Automation: Develop and improve CI/CD capabilities using Maven, Jenkins, Tekton, and Git.
  • Cloud-Native Engineering: Build and operate platform capabilities using Docker, Kubernetes, and modern cloud-native technologies.
  • Developer Experience: Simplify complex infrastructure and development workflows through automation, self-service capabilities, and intuitive frameworks.
  • Reliability & Security: Build scalable and reliable platform services while improving observability, vulnerability management, security, and operational excellence.
  • AI-Powered Tooling: Identify opportunities to apply AI to developer productivity and platform engineering challenges.
  • Global Collaboration: Partner closely with engineering teams in the US and other locations to deliver platform roadmap priorities.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong 4-7 years of professional experience developing software with Java.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Maven, REST APIs, and Git.
  • Experience designing reusable frameworks, developer platforms, infrastructure tooling, or shared engineering capabilities.
  • Good understanding of microservices and distributed systems.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD technologies such as Jenkins and Tekton.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, automation, and cloud-native environments.
  • Strong engineering ownership—you are comfortable building, testing, deploying, operating, and supporting what you develop.
  • A developer-first mindset with a passion for improving developer experience and engineering productivity.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with experience working across teams and geographies.

If you're passionate about platform engineering and eager to contribute to the tools used by eBay's software engineers, we'd love to hear from you.
