Role Summary
The Visual Designer I is responsible for producing high-quality visual design across experiential activations, digital media, live environments, and client-facing communications. This is a hands-on creative production role focused on translating established concepts, brand standards, and creative direction into polished, production-ready deliverables.
Visual designers work closely with creative directors, motion designers, 3D artists, software developers, project managers, and sales teams to execute visual work across a wide range of formats. Deliverables may include vector artwork, environmental graphics, user-interface assets, layouts, storyboards, mockups, and professional presentations.
The ideal candidate is a versatile designer who can interpret another person's creative vision, make strong design decisions within that direction, and execute with a high level of craft. Depending on the project, this person may also help establish or take ownership of the visual direction.
Key Responsibilities:
Creative Production & Execution
- Execute established creative direction across experiential, interactive, digital, presentation, and live-event deliverables.
- Translate creative briefs, sketches, style frames, references, and brand standards into refined visual assets and production-ready artwork.
- Extend approved concepts across multiple formats and touchpoints while maintaining consistency and attention to detail.
- Work efficiently through revisions, production updates, and versioning without losing the intent of the original creative vision.
Visual Design & Storytelling
- Create high-quality vector graphics, illustrations, icons, typography, compositions, layouts, and production artwork.
- Design polished, professional presentations that clearly and persuasively communicate creative concepts, user journeys, and proposed experiences.
- Organize complex ideas into intuitive visual narratives using diagrams, mockups, reference imagery, and concise supporting content.
- Apply strong principles of hierarchy, typography, composition, color, and brand consistency across all deliverables.
Concept Development & Visual Direction
- Contribute ideas during discovery, brainstorming, and concept-development sessions.
- Collaborate with creative leadership to develop mood boards, style frames, and visual approaches when a project is still taking shape.
- Take ownership of visual direction for select projects when appropriate, carrying the work from initial concept through final execution.
Technical Production
- Prepare assets for use across LED walls, projection systems, touchscreens, interactive software, web experiences, print, and environmental applications.
- Work with developers, technologists, fabricators, and production partners to ensure designs are visually effective and technically executable.
- Adapt creative work to nontraditional formats, resolutions, aspect ratios, viewing distances, and physical environments.
Collaboration
- Participate actively in creative reviews, critique, and iteration cycles.
- Communicate design rationale clearly and incorporate feedback from internal stakeholders and clients.
- Maintain organized project files, shared libraries, and documentation so work can move efficiently across disciplines.
Quality & Delivery
- Ensure all deliverables meet established creative standards, brand requirements, and technical specifications.
- Review work carefully for accuracy, consistency, hierarchy, and production readiness.
- Manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining a high level of craft and attention to detail.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Figma, Illustrator, and design tools.
- Motion design or animation experience in Adobe After Effects or a comparable platform.
- Experience supporting experiential design, interactive installations, live events, environmental graphics, or branded spaces.
