Role Overview

We are hiring a Datacenter Engineer to support the mission critical infrastructure that powers our markets, market data services and member connectivity responsible from all aspects of Cboe’s datacenter physical footprint. This is a hands-on role responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all datacenter hardware, cabling, and supporting infrastructure across our colocation facilities.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail oriented, organized, comfortable in datacenter settings, and eager to grow within a highly reliable, mission critical environment and experienced performing largescale MAC (Moves, Adds, Changes) activities. You will collaborate regularly with Engineering, Operations, and NOC teams.

Please note: Candidate selected for this role must be willing to work on site at our Secaucus, New Jersey Data Center. Shift Requirements

This role will require you to be available for the following late shift schedule, which is subject to change.

This is a rotating 2nd shift position, Monday through Saturday. The role follows a 4-day, 10-hour workday, with shifts scheduled between Monday and Saturday. Standard 2nd shift hours are 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM. Additionally, this position includes Saturday as a normal workday with a day shift assignment on Saturdays, starting at 7:00 AM depending upon if you work the front or back end of the weekly shift.

US Holiday coverage may be required.

Please note: The role may be eligible for a shift differential of 10% depending on the shift worked.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Install and maintain servers, network devices, storage systems, and associated cabling and cross connectivity
  • Perform structured cabling (copper, MMF, SMF), including testing, routing, labeling, and documentation
  • Execute daily MAC tasks including equipment installs, moves, and rack/cable upgrades
  • Be our hands and eyes in the data center and report any environmental issues (power, cooling, temperatures) and escalate to management and the provider
  • Work with Engineering and NOC teams to troubleshoot hardware, application and connectivity issues directly and via Jira tickets
  • Generate and maintain equipment inventories, rack elevations, cable maps, and documentation standards
  • Respond to datacenter incidents including hardware failures and cabling issues
  • Support new equipment rollouts and datacenter expansion projects
  • Assist with vendor coordination, shipping/receiving, RMAs, and onsite service activities
  • Support the ongoing development and improvement of our global datacenter operations standards
  • Participate in on-call coverage and shift rotations
  • Research new Data Center infrastructure equipment advancements and recommend changes as needed to management
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, consistent, reliable work and a strong sense of ownership in supporting critical operations

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in datacenter support including:
  • Racking, removing, cabling and troubleshooting server, storage, and network equipment in colocation environment
  • MAC work which includes installing/moving equipment and cabling on a large-scale basis
  • The candidate will need to be proficient in cable plant design and troubleshooting (Copper/MMF/SMF) as well as proficient in the industry standard testing tools
  • Basic working knowledge of HVAC, power, fire, building security systems operations, and safety
  • Working knowledge of telecommunications technologies, systems, and circuits
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work inside datacenter environments for extended periods
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic team-oriented environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects
  • Team player, desiring to be part of a high-performance team with dynamic responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
  • Must be willing and flexible to work different shifts (as needed to support the business needs) for short-to-long-term periods of time as well as participate in the On Call support rotation

Salary Ranges (applicable for US locations only)

At Cboe, we are committed to providing a competitive, transparent, and market‑informed total rewards program. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $93,500-$121,000, with actual compensation determined by job‑related factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal alignment, and location.

This role may also be eligible for annual incentive compensation and, where applicable, participation in Cboe's long-term equity programs.
