Assistant Project Manager Lead – JLL
What this job involves: JLL is seeking an Assistant Project Manager Lead to support our client across the State of Tennessee. This role is based in Nashville, TN with a hybrid onsite schedule and travel to project sites throughout the state as needed. The Assistant Project Manager Lead will support a wide range of construction and capital projects, including base building, tenant improvement, and interiors projects, from pre-construction and design management through occupancy, commissioning, and closeout. The role requires strong collaboration with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to help deliver projects safely, efficiently, and in alignment with client goals. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, financial and operational awareness, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Support the planning, coordination, and execution of construction and capital projects from design through closeout.
- Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, architects, engineers, and internal JLL teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Review construction drawings, project documentation, schedules, budgets, and reports to support project delivery and compliance.
- Conduct site visits and project reviews to monitor progress, identify risks, and help resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and maintain consistent communication with project teams and client partners.
- Track project financials, support cost-benefit analysis efforts, and assist with reporting and data accuracy using project management tools.
- Champion safety standards, ensure punch list completion, and verify project documentation, warranties, and CMMS system updates are completed accurately.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent relevant work experience.
- 4+ years of experience in construction project management, including base building, logistics, or interiors projects.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, building systems, and applicable safety and code regulations including NFPA and OSHA standards.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Proficiency with project management and productivity tools including Microsoft Project, Excel, and MS Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Ability to travel throughout the State of Tennessee up to 80% as project needs require.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Corporate real estate or office project management experience.
- Experience working within matrixed organizations and cross-functional project teams.
- Familiarity with capital planning, budgeting, financial reporting, and cost management processes.
- Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of furniture, space planning, and workplace design concepts.
- Experience with process improvement initiatives and technology-driven project reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong client relationships and support conflict resolution efforts.
Location: Nashville, TN
Work Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Position supports multiple locations across all 95 counties in Tennessee and requires approximately 90% travel. Company vehicle provided.
