As an Application Database Administrator – Oracle DBA / Exadata Support Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting mission-critical Oracle environments and maintaining the resilience of core database services. The position combines production support, platform administration, performance optimization, and cross-functional coordination, with meaningful impact on system availability, recovery readiness, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities• Provide L2/L3 database administration and production support for mission-critical Oracle environments.
- Administer and support Oracle Database 12c and 19c environments.
- Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, migrations, and patching.
- Manage database creation, cloning, refresh, backup, recovery, and validation activities.
- Administer users, roles, profiles, privileges, database security, tablespaces, schemas, and capacity.
- Perform database health checks, proactive monitoring, and availability management.
- Administer and troubleshoot Oracle Exadata environments, including Cell Servers and Storage Servers.
- Use CellCLI and related Exadata command-line tools for operational support.
- Administer and troubleshoot Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard environments.
- Execute switchover, failover, disaster recovery planning, testing, and recovery procedures.
- Perform database and SQL performance tuning using AWR, ASH, and ADDM analysis.
- Investigate wait events, locking, sessions, and resource utilization issues.
- Monitor database performance and availability using Oracle Enterprise Manager.
- Troubleshoot critical production incidents and perform root cause analysis.
- Coordinate with application, infrastructure, storage, network, and security teams.
- Maintain technical documentation for operational procedures and support activities.
Required Qualifications• 5+ years of hands-on Oracle Database Administration experience, including senior-level L2/L3 production support for Oracle database environments.
- Hands-on production experience with Oracle Database 12c/19c and Oracle Exadata environments.
- Strong experience handling critical production incidents and troubleshooting in mission-critical database environments, including providing clear technical updates on impact, recovery actions, root cause, and preventive measures.
- Proven experience with database performance tuning for Oracle environments.
- Hands-on experience with RMAN backup and recovery, Oracle RAC, ASM, and Oracle Data Guard.
- Experience using Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control for monitoring and administration.
- Solid Linux administration experience with shell scripting.
- Experience working with application or development teams to troubleshoot database-related application issues and performance problems.
- Experience coordinating with infrastructure, storage, network, security, backup, disaster recovery, and DBA or infrastructure teams during production deployments, patching, upgrades, maintenance, and operational issue resolution.
- Experience preparing root cause analysis reports for high-severity or recurring database incidents.
- Eligibility to work in Egypt.
Preferred Qualifications• Experience with OCI / Oracle Cloud.
- Experience working within ITIL-based support processes.
- Experience communicating directly with senior technical stakeholders or management during critical incidents.
