Description
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and deliver commercial new-construction projects on time, on budget, and to spec. You'll be the primary point of contact for general contractors, developers, and architects — managing the project lifecycle from initial bid and design through procurement, scheduling, installation, and closeout. This role is well-suited to someone who thrives on juggling multiple concurrent projects, solving problems in the field, and building lasting relationships with construction industry partners.
Responsibilities:
- Own the full project lifecycle for assigned commercial construction jobs, from award through final walkthrough and closeout
- Serve as the main liaison with general contractors, developers, architects, and site superintendents
- Review project plans, specs, and submittals to confirm scope, product selection, and code compliance for overhead doors and dock equipment
- Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating material lead times, crew availability, and site readiness
- Manage procurement and logistics, working with vendors and internal teams to ensure equipment arrives on schedule
- Coordinate and oversee installation crews and subcontractors remotely, ensuring work meets quality and safety standards through regular check-ins and reporting
- Track project budgets, change orders, and billing milestones; flag scope or cost changes proactively
- Monitor project progress and resolve field issues remotely by coordinating closely with on-site superintendents, installers, and subcontractors
- Maintain accurate project documentation: submittals, RFIs, change orders, punch lists, and closeout packages
- Communicate project status regularly to internal leadership and external stakeholders
- Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, material delays, or site access issues before they impact timelines
- Support pre-construction efforts including bid reviews, take-offs, and proposal input as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree)
- 2+ years of project management experience in construction, commercial contracting, building products, or a related field preferred
- Strong understanding of construction project workflows (bid, submittal, procurement, installation, closeout) a plus
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interfacing with GCs, developers, and architects
- Proficiency with project management and scheduling tools (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar)
- This is an office-based role — travel and jobsite visits based on business needs
