Full description

The Data Analytics Intmd Analyst is a Governance and developing professional role. The incumbent deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. This role integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices, and demonstrates a good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/job family.

The role applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies, requiring attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. In addition to core analytics duties, this role also incorporates elements of data governance and data risk & control awareness, requiring the ability to handle ambiguity and complexity, and to partner across teams on governance-related initiatives. The individual typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact, applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results, and breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner.

Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information and to guide and influence stakeholders on governance-related matters. This role has a moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities; the quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of the analyst's own team as well as other closely related teams.

  • Appropriately assesses risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • Partners with multiple teams to support the implementation of relevant Data Governance policies and/or the Data Risk and Control framework as applicable to the analytics function.
  • Provides input and support on Data Governance and/or Data Risk and Controls framework matters, including performance monitoring and self-assessment processes related to data used in analysis.
  • Supports oversight and analysis of data-related issues, including tracking of ownership, target dates, and associated metrics and reporting.
  • Gathers and synthesizes metrics on existing Data Governance and/or Data Risk and Controls principles, policies, practices, and standards, including awareness of industry best practices, to inform data analytics work
  • Assists in establishing and maintaining the Industry Governance Policy execution framework, including data cataloging, data lineage, and data quality capabilities
  • Evaluates business processes to align with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards

Qualifications

Core Qualifications

  • 4-8 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of tools for statistical modeling of large data sets.
  • Ability to effectively use complex analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Data Governance and/or Data Risk and Control principles, policies, and frameworks (e.g., data policy adoption, data quality, and issue management processes) is a plus.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and complexity, and to adapt quickly to changing requirements.
  • Good analytical skills to filter, prioritize, and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub — including repository management, branching, pull requests, and version control best practices
  • Familiarity with Lightspeed (LSE/LSC) or equivalent enterprise CI/CD platforms — understanding of build pipelines, deployment workflows, and DevOps-integrated environments
  • Experience with data cataloging, data lineage, or metadata management tools is a plus
  • Applies digital skills, including the use of AI-assisted tools, to enhance BAU (Business-as-Usual) activities and improve governance efficiency
